How the (frank) did Subban not find his way on the ice to turtle during that altercation and deflect blame to some 150lb bully?? Very disappointing for Habs fans I'm sure.

Devils 0 for 11 in shootouts. There's your playoff berth decided by that bullsh!t.

Because of the way the deal is structured – with more than 75 per cent of the money in irrevocable signing bonuses – Clarkson has the rare indestructible contract, one that guarantees him the vast majority of his money no matter what.

The only part of the deal the Leafs can really buy out is one-third of the $8-million in remaining base salary, meaning Clarkson would receive all but $2.7-million (or 8 per cent) of the contract, and Toronto would have an enormous amount of dead money on its cap.

Clarkson also has the benefit of a no-movement clause, so he cannot be sent to the minors, and a no-trade clause that allows him to dictate which 14 teams he can be traded to.

“There’s no way they buy him out,” a source familiar with the contract’s language said. “You can do it, but it’s nonsensical,” because of how little cap relief it would give.

Ugh, just a stupid play. What goes through your head when a guy is bent over like that and you think, hey I totally need to jump into this guys head. Could have laid him out completely legally there.

Dreger on TSN Radio: Spoke to a player on an opposing team, said game against the Leafs was the easiest he's ever played, was like the Leafs didn't want to touch the puck

Yep, somehow that's what it's come to for some guys -- not really playing hard hockey unless the other guy gets hurt. And this on the back end of two clean and positive incidents vs. the B's which probably bolstered his rep here. Now he's rightfully just another dirtbag.

Funny you say that, before the last couple games I'd always kind of thought of him as a lot like CarcilloV2, then especially in the game this past weekend, I was really impressed by him. Was getting lots of chances, was hard on the puck, played hard but within the rules. Then this.
