I dunno. I still like considering Mike Smith on the UFA market but Schneider would be a nice catch. I would have preferred Lou through Free Agency but it appears the Nuks aren't interested in buying him out. I wonder if they'd take on a project like Kabanov, our 1st and Hickey.

Every team in the league knows that Vancouver will either keep Lou or buy him out. No one is going to give a big time offer for him with that contract. Agreed on the cap hit if he retires. Considering the contract goes until he's 43, I consider that possiblity a given. The must either keep him or buy him out.

It could be, but a pick in the middle of the first round and Nino is way more than the literally-nothing anybody is going to pay for Luongo. And, you know, so many Vancouver fans have been in here saying what a great goalie Lu is while trying to sell him to us...so they'd still have a really good goalie in net.
