If we add a forward from the Coburn trade there aren't necessarily going to be too many cap savings. My concern is that by trading Coburn we end up reliant on the FA market next season when Mez and Kimmo leave. - JAKEw1234
If they trade Coburn and Read plus the 11th for the 6th and 28th picks, they're not taking on any salary. |

Yeah, Nichushkin could be a dominant player. Monahan could end up being better than Schenn or Couturier. Lindholm is also highly regarded. I've seen people use names like Forsberg & Zetterberg to describe his ceiling.
Granted, none of them are as highly regarded as the big 3 and Barkov, but I'd move up for any of those six. - Jsaquella
Damn. I hope this class pans out to all the hype. The Flyers should still get a decent player at #11 even if they don't move up in the draft. |

If someone outside the top 4 has a known ceiling at a Forsberg and Zetterberg level, they would either be inside the top 3, or this would be a legendary draft class. |

Isn't Alt more of a puck mover? - MJL
Not to the degree that Gustafsson and Gostisbehere are. Alt's more of a two way guy, had good numbers early in career, that tailed off a bit. Still played a lot of minutes and Lilja raved about him. |

Man that's a steep price. I would make that deal if they could also get a young prospect defenseman. |

I'll tell you one thing. Just from reading the forum here. I know more players names in the draft then I ever have. Don't know much about them, but I can reel off some names.

Oh to dream of having 5, 35, 65 and 71 with the same roster. Like the Spurs could've set the franchise up for a decade. Oh, well. I think they're in good position anyway. |

Nobody has a known ceiling at age 18. The word is that his ceiling could be that high. People talk about Nurse as having a Pronger like ceiling, but the offense may never come. One thing he lacks is a huge shot. |

Probably similar, might not have the same physical gifts, but decent size and mobility |

i think it was kyle woodlief who stated that TB might take nichushkin, who on some boards is in the top 3. |

I'd rather see if they'd move Brodie than more picks. |

Nichushkin has been absolutely dominant at times but he's not shown it on a consistent level. But he's also playing in a men's league, like Barkov. He's definitely the biggest wildcard of the draft. |

The Flames could use a player like Read. I think there is a legitimate chance that a trade gets done. |

But that trade is bad because then we do have a very real top 6 gap on forward and top 4 gap on D. And as we learned from last offseason, you shouldn't make your offseason plans relying on the big name FAs to sign with you. It's easy to say "Sign Scuderi to fill in for Coburn" but what if Scuderi doesn't want to play here? Or what if someone else signs him? Then we have a big gap in the top 4. Personally I think Grossmann could play top 4, but then we have a big gap on the 3rd pair, and I don't believe Lauridsen or Alt are ready to fill that role yet. |

Which team is in rebuild here? Watching hinkie pull off those deals last night makes me more frustrated at the flyers lack of direction other than making the playoffs.
And the two weeks of winning at the end of the year. Ugh what a colossal error

I'm with you. I would be real hesitant to make that kind of deal, unless I knew I had an agreement in place for a Coburn replacement or upgrade & needed the space to fit it |

Could be. That's the thing with Nichushkin and Lindholm. The ceilings are high, but they might turn out to be simply solid NHLers...or even the next Hugh Jessiman |

I would be surprised to see Nichushkin go in the top 3, I'm pretty confident he isn't going to the Preds at #4. Barkov has nearly the same ceiling and none of the KHL factor be worried about. I just can't see him going before Barkov, Drouin, or Lindholm. |

Did you see Feaster asking GMs to call him for Camallari? What an asshat. You mine-as-well say, this guy is worthless and we will be using a CBO. Guy is terrible and I hope Homer has been calling. |
