It's a conundrum...I know it's a stretch, but what if you get a fully healthy lineup, without Coburn:
Schenn Timonen
Streit Grossmann
Mez Gustafsson
Gervais
Lauri - exlund
IF healthy, I wouldn't mind that defense at all. A healthy Meszaros goes a long way towards making this defense solid again. Prior to his injuries, he was playing great. |

Exactly, just fun to talk about...probably 0.000001% chance of happening.
Of course, the Flyers traded Ross Lonsberry, Tom Bladon and Orest Kindrachuk to the Pens for a 1st rounder, back in the day - Jsaquella
I didn't think the Avs and Flames would do any deals after the O'Reilly situation for a while. I was proven wrong. I hope the Letang trade happens, it would make the rivalry even more crazy. BTW, I would have more interest in Letang even with a higher cap hit then Edler, just my opinion. Very slim chance of happening. |

Only way I give them Cousins is if they make us take Fleury in the deal - wilsonecho91

My worry with that is having no shutdown guy on the 3rd pairing. They'll get exposed a good amount without that defensive-guy. |

Edler can't leave Vancouver yet, he a few ass chewing sessions scheduled with his new coach. |

#1 guy. Dude was just nominated for a Norris. Even though the Norris is more of a competition between offensive-dmen these days, it still has to amount to some significance regarding his effectiveness as a Dman. |

Torts with the Sedins is must watch TV, that is going to be awesome. How many blocked shots do you see the Sedins have this season combined? I'll set the over/under at 8. Torts may have a nervous breakdown right on the bench.

It's possible, but I don't think we can assume they would struggle either...Mez and Gustafsson have the ability to play well in all zones...but also, I think you have to see what you get from these guys given the circumstances. |

#1 offensively? Kimmo and Streit would be close. And Letang would be what, average defensively? |

Also consider that both guys are offensive guys. If they were paired with a defensive guy then they could be left more to play their styles. I think we'd see more production from Gus if he was paired with Grossmann or Coburn. |

man thats funny!!!
I have to think he'll calm for a year or 2, he was really shocked to get booted in NY, but he needed it, look at how the other coaches act around the league, and that blocking everything has to be curbed a bit |

Average yes. Still better than Streit. And his pt/g this season shows that Letang would produce more offense. I think that's more because he likes to carry it up alot and play forward on the rush. He's like Mike Green. In that respect, I guess Kimmo would be the most offensive as a defenseman. Letang would produce alot of offense from playing forward |

I remember that one, too...Hearing Espo tell the story is great...
He was road roomates with Orr, and Cherry came up to see them. Orr was sitting by the window, and Espo knew what was coming.
He says, "Don, I can live with it, I'm a man. But if you tell me I was traded to New York, I'm going to jump out that window"
Cherry says, to Orr, "Hey Bobby, You want to get out of Phil's way?" |

The Joe Zanussi throw in was a trivia question once during a game
I loved how Gene Hart used to describe John Davidson, when he's on, he's great, when he's off, he's awful, or something close to that.

I miss Gene Hart. I watch the old clips every so often...I love him losing his mind when Clarke scored the OT winner in game two in 1974. |

I think they will get a low first round pick for him.
From the Flyers, #41 and a good prospect?
I think he is an upgrade over Gus by a little, but I'd rather see how Gus does and keep the assets.
