Buffalo should just trade Vanek for 5th overall and something else. Draft Monahan, and Nurse, or another forward if need be.

It is a very unenviable task, but the only way I'd want to move Vanek is if we were able to draft Drouin or acquire a player who can at least attempt to replace his scoring.

I agree....but edmontons outright refusal to draft anything other than forwards is perplexing.

when should've they drafted a defencemen? theyve drafted a bunch of defencemen in the second round. and lets not forget Klefbom at 19.
this is generally where our 'prospect' pool comes from which incidentally is stronger at D than it is at forward.

I think we'll see what kind of sac good ol' Darcy has this summer.

If even a portion of these rumors have any legs, he looks like he has some options.
