Grigorenko is going to be a true #1. You just have to have the patience to let him develop.
- CaptPantalones

I disagree but I hope u are right. I think the sabres wont get high enough to get Drouin and grab a center.

THE PROBLEM IS grigo is same way. You need a two way center somewhere
- hafgod

Isn't Larrson projected to be a two way center?

Grigorenko is already far better defensively then CoHo. Hes not going to win a Selke (a la Fedorov, Toews), but hes going to be reliable enough, AGAIN, AS HE DEVELOPS
- CaptPantalones

Which is why he only scored once. He knows his defensive responsibilities now watch him score 20 this year and add 35 apples

My fear is that they are going to try way too hard to make him "defensively responsible" and eventually it's going to prevent him to do what he does best: create offensively. Hodgson's not a two-way player and never will be. The Sabres need to stop trying to make him into one. Let him run and gun. That's when he's at his best.
- buffalofan19

Can I ask how they have "tried" to make him a two way player so far? He's been on a line with Vanek who's subpar defensively and Pominville who was our only other winger capable of playing on the 1st line . Half of being a good defensive forward is knowing where to be in a certain place and when to be in a certain place. He will get better with experience

He only scored twice because he struggled with the speed of the game

I agree. I dont think they will either.

I think theyll likely sit at 8 and take BPA. Theyll wait and see who drops. If a Monahan or Lindholm drops, then someone else (besides Ennis) gets moved to wing. Or they look at Nischukin, Shinkaruk, Nurse or Ristolainen

Hes already a good checking C for the NHL. The Wild just wanted his offense to be more well rounded. Hes already an NHL level checking C

a year ago, I was propping Flynn

this offseason, watch how Tim Schaller moves up the depth chart

I would not be shocked if he is with the team full time by Mid Feb

He was so timid under Lindy he was afraid of making a mistake. That's why he only scored once. Plus playing 8 mins a game with Kaleta and Scott doesn't help

Even better NFL news:

NFL declines to promote Obamacare

“We have responded to the letters we received from members of Congress to inform them we currently have no plans to engage in this area and have had no substantive contact with the administration about [the health-care law’s] implementation,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told the Post. (That’s a long, drawn-out way of saying, “We’re staying out of this.”)

I think Girgensons a top 6 player for the next decade, I hope so anyway. Pick 14 in the draft should be.

He works hard, but he's slow on the back check because he's just slow, and he's not great on faceoffs, another thing that will improve with time

I have a higher ceiling for Girgensons, but I like what your saying.

I see him in the top 6 as a Milan Lucic type. Big bodied winger who can score 20 goals and drop the mitts
