If memory serves me correct, they usually are late with releasing their thirds until like September when camp opens.

They might do it at camp. Since they had 10,000 plus at the scrimmage last season

It's a huge draft. Very important to how this team will look in 3 years

Yeah, I understand we need a punisher, a guy to be afraid of, but they can't play dumb. They need to take a lesson out of the Chara handbook. Always play positionaly sound and dish out the big hits when you know you'll land them and there won't be a negative consequence.

Did Chara play that way when he was 23?

Holy cow...
Do u guys really expect young defensemen to not make mistakes?

McNabb will be just fine
Actually, he will be very good

- jdfitz77

I am more concearned about myers than McNabb.
McNabb will be fine.

Your less concerned about the guy who can't make the team yet?

Not with how deep this draft is and we basically have 2 picks in the top half

yes because McNabb is stilll developing. Will be on team as a 6-7 no huge financial investment and is a good young prospect.
Myers is a train wreck who has shown to be a selfish player with limited heart with huge financial investment

I beg to differ. Only once have the Sabres had a top ten pick during Darcy's long and seemingly endless tenure; when has the team's top two players been in play to trade? Also, when has the owner had deep pockets and also seems to be more a fan than an executive? You put all those together and it could be an exciting draft.

We dont need a good player. We need an elite elite player. to turn this thing around.

I am not trying to pick a fight.
They have only picked one elite player since Darcy has been here and it was Vanek.
If you dont have elite foundation guys nobody would come here no matter how much much daddy warbucks pegula has. Guys can get the money anywhere. They want to win,

I would say we need as many good players as we can get. To build a true contending organization you need as many good players as you can get. Sure I'd love a franchise player but the price is too high IMO to move up

who else is hoping Darcy gets busted tonight in Newark sitting in a parked car with a pound of weed and a transvestite hooker named Shirley?

I don't get your contention that players won't want to come here. We aren't talking FA this weekend, it's the draft and potential trades. They usually don't have a say as to where they are going. Your argument sounds like a FA one. Anyway, I hope on Monday we like what happened on Sunday.

We don't even know that the price to move up to #5 is very high. Myers and the #8 would probably do it. I would do that.

There is no cost to high to get a foundation player. Tell me a cup team that does not have them. Darcy is the only one that says cost is to high. Its his excuse never to take the risk and always contend for eighth place

I agree with you. Its our best chance to get an elite player. We should do anything possible to get one. I think in the original quote it mentioned pegula had deep pockets. That was the free agent comment.

I pretty much agree with this. Based on Darcy's end of the year press conf where he said they needed top players, i think he finally believes this too.

Too high.

To move up to #1, sure.
