I for one would love to see Mez, Grossaman and Coburn dealt this weekend....nothing against those guys as players but we need to get the cap number down on our d corp....were probably not going to contend next year so ship em all out and lets figure it out with youngsters

I wouldn't be opposed to it. The main concern is everyone saying "who is going to replace them"? We need to get players that fit our style and play solid hockey.

Shouldn't be. Not like this group is All-Star caliber. Should be getting better production for the price imo.

Not sure if anyone saw the feature on HBO real sports on Wallenda. People were actually sending the guy hate mail, and threatening letters because he had a safety harness when he walked across Niagara Falls. WTF is wrong with people.

see, this is why i try to restrain my self with the "trade players for future assets" type of ideas i've recently advocated: i'm afraid of getting lumped in with this crowd

Why think about it Timonen will retire after this year and you would have ample cap space...There one of the highest paid defense corp and they suck as a whole....why not...you will a crew assets for them and really start to build something with the talented kids we already have....ship em out and move on

Defenseman take a long time to develop. Are you willing to wait 3-4 years before contending?

Got to take a small step back to take a big step forward....every team in the cup chase built there team primarily through the draft...always going for it never works...you get a core and go with it and this core on d isnt cutting it

I don't think trading away our defnseman will help our team. None of them will get you a top level prospect or first round pick except Schenn. And you don't want to trade Schenn. Grossmann gets you a second or maybe 2 seconds. Coburn gets you a second. Kimmo has a NTC, Mez gets you just about nothing, I don't think Streit will be traded after just signing and Gus is a young guy you want to build with.
