All kidding aside, I really don't think there will be any movement with the 1st 4 picks. MacKinnon and Jones will be the 1st 2 taken, the only question is the order and the same goes for Barkov and Drouin at 3 and 4. Then the fun should begin.

A lot of people seem to think that Carolina is willing to move the 5th pick for a legitimate top 4 defenseman. If that's the case, offer them Coburn. While I like what Coburn brings to the team, getting the 5th best 18 year old kid in the draft for the 28 year old Coburn is a good deal, a very good deal. My guess is the Flyers would then take Nichushkin.

If Carolina holds onto the pick or trades it to someone else, I believe either Nichushkin, Lindholm or Monahan goes 5th. Calgary will then take either Monahan or Lindholm 6th.

At this point, if no trades have been made and Nichushkin is still on the board, perhaps the Flyers try to make a deal with Edmonton. I really don't think they want to move the 11th pick, but Edmonton could also use D so perhaps Coburn, a prospect like McGinn (the Oilers need size up front), and this year's 2nd, #41 gets the deal done. Once again, if this happens, the Flyers would take Nichushkin.

If no trades have occured and Edmonton picks 7th, I believe they will go with Nurse. At that point, Buffalo picking 8th would almost certainly go with Nichushkin, Monahan or Lindholm depending which one is still on the board.
I could then see the Devils going with Shinkaruk at 9 and the Stars going with Pulock at 10.

Here is where it could get interesting. Columbus could badly use a scoring center, at this point it's down to Domi, Horvat or Wennberg. There is a very good chance that 2 of those 3 would be taken by Phoenix (12) and Winnipeg (13). If there is one that Columbus is really in love with maybe they move the 14th and 27th pick for our 11th. Then the 3 forwards go next and the Flyers get Ristolainen at 14. If not, the Flyers probably take Ristolainen at 11.

If the trade with Edmonton goes down and the Flyers have the 7th and 11th picks, I still think the same happens at 11 and the Flyers would most likely still end up with Ristolainen.

All I can say is that if the Flyers can find a way to come out of this weekend with Nichushkin and Ristolainen and still have Couturier and Schenn, I will be VERY happy.

very interesting deal, if it's true at all
