I can't really either but I'd try to see if they'd take it. I'd rather hang on to Coburn so to move him I would want to make the other team pay for it.
- ob18

Agreed, 6'5 defenseman who skate well and can play in your top 4 don't grow on trees, a lot of fans seem to really be undervaluing Coburn.

I'd ask them to include #7, a 2nd rounder, & Jeff Petry for Couburn and #72 (just an idea that could be tweaked)
- ob18

there you go

Edm says no, but it's a good start

no way they would, imo

i can't see them taking coburn for #7 straight up

- FlyerMike18

They won't but I think they could be a good trading partner. There is pressure from the fans and management to get that team to the next level. They are growing tired of acquring young talent. They really want players who can help the team now.

We know they likely wouldn't but we have something they've been rumored to really want, you start out asking for the moon to see if they'd bite, then get down to business.

So are the Briere and Bryzgalov buyouts complete? I never saw them go on waivers.

Yup, gotta have a starting point and work from it, that's what I'd be starting with

If the Flyers trade for Sam Gagner you can pretty much bet that either B.Schenn or Couturier is traded for defense.

If they have a NMC they can opt not to go through the waiver process.

They had NMC so they didn;t have to. They are gone.

Coburn alone wouldn't get you anywhere close to #7.

You don't want to insult your potential trading partner either with a lowball offer.

I think Gagner is a large step down from what Shcenn and Coots will be

So what channel is TSN? Will the draft be on the NHL network? Trying to record it for later evening watching with my father-in-law

Not saying he would but I'd sure as hell try for it anyway. Edmonton has a nice young core that isn't far away that they just might be willing to overpay.

I agree with you, I think Laughton has the potential to develop into a similar player to Gagner.
I'm really hoping the Flyers come out of this weekend with Couturier and Schenn still on the team. I would be perfectly fine with them doing nothing and just taking someone like Ristolainen or Pulock with the 11th pick.
