We gonna see any deals today you guys think or is it all gonna go down tomorrow?? - griouxmvp2012
That's a question for Ek.. I could see some deals go down, cause all the GM's are in the same spot now..Homer said he's been receiving lots of calls so far. 6 calls...5 from Mike Gillis and the other was Nonis on behalf of Gillis.. please please take Luongo for Schenn and your first.. It'll solve your goaltending problems and I won't get fired for (frank)ing this up. |

If I were them, my plan would be to address goal without trading any assets. I'd prefer to re sign Read, and if I remember correctly, we have the space to do that now. Wait for a buyout on Luongo, if that doesn't happen, sign Emery andpass the reigns to Mason...can't be sure, but from seeing him so far, he's a solid young tender. Address the forward issues in UFA. Trade Coburn if you must but get a cheaper defenseman back in return. - Hextall271
mason's had 4 bad yrs in a row, so its risky to hand the reigns over to him. Emory is prob OK to share time w/ him. |

I'm not the biggest Coburn fan in the world, but he's a pretty solid d-man when put in the correct role.
What is the rush to trade him? Flyers are already thin on the blueline due to the uncertainty of Grossmann and Meszaros. Is the idea in trading Coburn to clear cap space? If Coburn is traded is he being traded for a draft pick?
I just don't see how trading Coburn to clear cap space makes the team better in the short term.
Trading Read and Coburn doesn't make much sense to me. |

Bill made a good point about Emery though.. He's not as fast post to post as he used to be, so he might not survive with the type of shots he'll see. Luongo has slowed as well, but I think he's still got enough lateral ability to help us for 2 or 3 years. |

A flyers team with jagr and forsberg - PhillaBully
frightening isnt it?
If they did draft Jagr, and everything happens the same as it did historically, do the flyers throw half the team at Quebec for Lindros at that point?

If you're going best player available then I would go mackinon. I just can't pass up on jones even though mackinon is a much safer pick |

Magnus Pääjärvi - griouxmvp2012
Ah ok.. I was gonna look to see who has the 3rd.. Don't know what MPS makes, but that sounds like a reasonable trade. get another young forward with potential.. dump 4 mil in cap money trade up to draft a young dman.. I still say they will need to replace Coburn somehow unless they think Lauridsen can do it. |

I don't think it would have been as much. They might decide that the price is way to high. |

That's more or less why trading Coburn right now makes absolutely no sense -- unless they expect to throw Darnell Nurse into the deep end of the pool as an 18-year-old... oh wait... |

that first line would have been better than the legion of doom if they were all on PEDs. |
