That's a good point.. Streit is older, but he has a lot better shot from the point and will prob be a better replacement for Timonen.. I was reading on TSN last night in the comments, people were blasting the Flyers for signing him, and one person said.. why do the Flyers need another Timonen.. um he's not as good as Timonen, but it shows how out of touch some fans are.. i'd love to see him bring what Timo has.

Streit has a better shot, and is a better PP QB. Other then that, Carle is clearly a better all around player. But that really doesn't matter now.

I'm sorry, but all we talk about on this site is how difficult top 4 defenseman are to acquire. We actually have one that we are looking to trade and we aren't getting a top return at all. We should be getting a hell of a lot more back then PMS and the 7th. I dislike that deal. I'd rather:

Kimmo makes every one of his mates better, which is the hallmark of a very good/great player...I think Coby did play ok with Grossmann, but someone on that pairing needs to be able to produce more offensively than either of those two imo. Gervais, yeah...well.

Suffice it to say, it's kind of a damning commentary that Coby's play is largely dictated by the quality of his D partner. I think at this point Coburn is someone you can plug into a second pairing and be "ok"...but he's not playing at a level of consistency that would merit a permanent top 4 position imo...as Allin alluded to, an upgrade there isn't an unreasonable option...and if Coby goes, and not replaced immediately, it's not terrible scenario, IF the others are healthy...

Slightly off-topic, but WOW. The Bruins look like they're hella PO'd that they lost the Cup finals.

Yeah, Tyler Seguin's a little soft, but wow. He's still young enough, yet has been productive enough, that...wow.

They'll get a nice return if they do move him, certainly. But as much as I embrace risk...that's one I wouldn't be doing.

The Flyers changed Coburn's role in the past few years. Made him primarily a defensive defenseman. Then asked more from him offensively last Season. It didn't work out. Coburn's development isn't going backwards. He just had a subpar Season. Put him in the right spot and role. And he'll be fine.

Then again, some of these rumors need to be taken with a grain of salt. TSN's throwing a lot of stuff out there... we all know most of it won't come close to happening.

What's the story on Paarjarvi? Only 22 yrs old...winger....he project to be a good player? I don't know much about him, since he's all the way out yonder in EDM...
