Oilers fans will be furious. Eberle and 7th overall for Coburn, Read and 11th overall is close.

I have a feeling the Flyers are about to get a king ransom for Coburn, they look to be currently holding a bidding war - Winning

What's your opinion on him and the proposed trade? - funmaster18
Honestly, I know very little about him, other then the basics and what you can read about him on the internet. My read on this deal is that the Flyers covet a player in the draft, that they feel they need to move up to get. And I think they have something else that they feel good about, to replace Coburn. But there's a risk there. Coburn is a solid top 4 defensive defenseman with mobility. Mixed emotions. Compounded by not knowing who they'll draft.

Not high on Ristolainen...I agree with Bill that his offensive upside could be limited and his D isn't all that either...I wouldn't necessarily be upset in that scenario, especially given my affinity for Nurse, but I'd rather see Pulock taken there. - exlund
russ cohen has him in top 10, shane milloy...i don't think he was in his top 20. wide disparity w/ pulock. |

I agree the Coburn deal is move 1 of 2 to being in another dman. I'm just sitting back and going to enjoy the ride! |

The Coburn trade talk is NOT about getting EDM 1stR pick (7); it's about their 2 second-round picks which would give Flyers 3 in that round |

Let be fair. I don't think we actually know what Coburn could have been on the Power Play because once the Flyers only begun to add Matt Carle, Chris Pronger and Andrej Meszaros, Brayden Coburn took a back seat to these three. He can play in an offensive role, I just think more or less it was taken away from him. I still feel he can move the puck well as shown when playing with Grossman and I don't think his shot is terrible. Not always on target but still half decent. - dingo8urbaby
True...I've raised this on HB before...his PP minutes went from like 2 mins per game to zilch over time and he was put into a more defensive role...was this due to Coburn's own play or the coaches phasing him out of the offensive gameplan? |

.....Panaccio....be wary Sir....
That being said, I think I'd rather have #7.
However, if we can keep our 1st out of it and have #11 and 3 2nds, that'd be pretty sweet.
Coburn + 2014 2nd for Paajarvi + EDM 2 2nds in 2013? Just spitballing |

i don't think the 11 would be included with this. obviously coburn and the 11 for two seconds is insane (even with mps) |

Oh, that's totally different, then.
I'm not dealing Coburn for second-round picks. Screw that. Just because I think he's replaceable at this point in time means I don't know what the guy's age, skillset, contract/cap hit are.
That would NOT be a deal I'd like. (Just so people realize I'm not in agreement with every single thing the Flyers do.)

I hear you -- trust me, I hear you. The media was killing Seguin during and after, though, because he just didn't give them anything in the finals, especially when you consider the Bergeron was hurt and Krejci's line was getting shut down after the Blackhawks made adjustments.
They really needed him, and he didn't give them anything...they're pretty sour.
That's being said...there's risk, and there's craziness. - AllInForFlyers
Seguin didn't give them anything in the finals???
They weren't watching it then
Him and Kelly on a line with Paille almost won the damn series
Seguin was really good and showed he can back check and play two way hockey
I'd take him in a second on the Flyers
Real reason is they have to pay Rask and re up Bergeron
I'd let Horton walk and keep Seguin but what do I know

You know, it's funny. You can't take anything away from the B's because of their recent success, but they have some real holes if Horton walks and Tyler Seguin really is regressing.
Again, it's way too early to put Tyler Seguin in a box, and I'm not doing that.
But they actually NEEDED Jaromir Jagr. They don't have much in their system, with regard to high-end talent on the wings.
Maybe they're looking to score multiple pieces for Seguin, because if Horton does walk, they'd need two Top 6 RW PDQ. - AllInForFlyers
Seguin's broke into the league as an 18-year old... he's still only 21. If the microscope wasn;t on him because of the extended PO run, I doubt anybody would be talking about his job in Boston being in danger. If you're Boston, it's waaaaayyyy too early to be giving up on him. |

I agree. I'd be shocked if that's the reason why they're looking to move him. Kid is going to be a big time player.
