The rationale that TSN cited was pretty flimsy though... Chiarelli needs to consider trading Seguin or risk losing Horton?
Nathan Horton already indicated he's going to walk... Bruins are probably better off for it, too. - Tomahawk
Edmonton fans have said he learned to use his body a lot more this past year. He's still just 22 |

Streit has a better shot, and is a better PP QB. Other then that, Carle is clearly a better all around player. - MJL

So you're telling me he's now prostituting himself to get people to come to the games? Damn, that's sad. |

Seguin didn't give them anything in the finals???
They weren't watching it then
Him and Kelly on a line with Paille almost won the damn series
Seguin was really good and showed he can back check and play two way hockey
I'd take him in a second on the Flyers
Real reason is they have to pay Rask and re up Bergeron
I'd let Horton walk and keep Seguin but what do I know - Marc D
Yeah, I follow one of the Boston guys on Twitter -- he's been killing Seguin ever since Game 3.

True...I've raised this on HB before...his PP minutes went from like 2 mins per game to zilch over time and he was put into a more defensive role...was this due to Coburn's own play or the coaches phasing him out of the offensive gameplan? - exlund
Coburn's shot was wild and high 95% of time
That's why he wasn't given PP time |

Oh, that's totally different, then.
I'm not dealing Coburn for second-round picks. Screw that. Just because I think he's replaceable at this point in time means I don't know what the guy's age, skillset, contract/cap hit are.
That would NOT be a deal I'd like. (Just so people realize I'm not in agreement with every single thing the Flyers do.) - AllInForFlyers
would rather try to send a mid pick w/ mez anywhere to dump $$ than to trade coby for 2nd rndrs. |

He can move the puck out of the dzone and up the ice well enough, but he doesn't really process the offensive side of the game fast enough to be much of a threat. |

I'd actually want Zadorov if they can't move back to take Morrissey - ob18
Be fine with Zads too, I'm pretty keen on him...but a different brand of player vs. Pulock...Z is closer to Nurse in size and style, so Nurse and Pulock would give them two complementary potential studs...but Nurse and Zadorov sounds pretty damn good too! |

Take the swap of 1sts out of the equation and if the return was Marincin/Klefbom and a 2nd I'm pretty happy. Not so good for next season, but it sets the table nicely for when the window for this young core really opens. |

Coburn showed a lot of promise earlier in his career on the offensive side. They took away a lot of of that from him, and placed him in a more defensive role. It's not easy to not be used in that role for a number of years, and then all of a sudden ramp it up offensively. I think at this point he's just better left in a defensive role. |

Man, I hear you -- they're just sour over there. I thought they just got beat by a better team that figured them out after Game 3, but Boston might not believe that's the case.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Morrissey emerge as the most offensively productive blueliner from this class when all is said and done. |

If Edmonton isn't willing to part with pick #7 in a deal for Coburn, then time to move on. If they are going to move Coburn, I would rather build a package around him, that does not include the 11th pick, to move to Carolina for the 5th pick.
Perhaps Coburn, this years and next years 2nd, and a prospect? |

Well if they are getting rid if him I hope Homer makes a call.
He is going to cost a fricken ton |

I just want to clarify:
Are you saying you'd do MPS, Marincin/Klefbom and a 2nd for Coburn?
Or are you saying you'd do just Marincin/Klebom and a 2nd for Coburn?
Either way is fine because it's your thought process, I'm just making sure I understand where you're at. |

My head is spinning with all of these silly season scenarios. I just want to see what happens and then evaluate it. Hope springs eternal that Homer will come up aces this summer. |

If the deal was for the 7th overall, and a chance at Monahan I'd be all in.
Even though I knock Coburn, I think its a little foolish to give him away for Paajarvi who is a pretty big question mark and 2nd round picks.
Seems to be the Flyers taking all the risk in that deal.

The trade Coburn talk is baffling
Put him with Kimmo and you have a great pair
Probably he would be OK too with Streit but I feel less certain there |

Rather not
Shoulder injury and concussions
And he's going to get paid big $ |
