I like it

I like Jake and Cooter, but having more points doesn't mean it's a definite win.

The team has won one round of playoffs and missed the playoffs last year. It may turn out better, but our team performance has been worse. It may turn into a slam dunk if Schenn turns out as well, but right now there is no way you can say that team made us better short term.

That was pretty much a given in making the Richards/Carter trades. They knew they were taking a step back to fix some things and set the team up better for the future.

You're assuming that "using Vokoun" would drive down Bryzgalov's price. I think that is a false assumption.

i'd much rather trade Coburn for Paarjavi, 37 and 56 than Coburn and 11 for 5. if there was ever such a deal.

I like him at 41, or if they add a late 1st rounder, maybe. Big kid, has decent mobility, but has shown very little offensive upside

we don't know to what extent eds directive was to homer, but if you want to acquire a plyr there's a right way to do it and that wasn't it.

I disagree. If you identify a player and target him. You go after him, and sign him to a deal that works for both sides.

And honestly, you don't need advanced stats to know that at his age, and in the situations he played in. That he's a top defensive forward. And this is a kid that is far from physically mature, and we'll gain more and more experience as time goes by. All you have to do is watch the games.

I would too, but I'd pull the trigger on either deal as long as the flyers have a target at 5, not just for the sake of moving up and see who drops.

I think the coburn + 11 for 5 will take one more piece, possibly a cousins to make that work

I know these GM's posture a lot but I think the Flyers/Homer really like Risto supposedly the most NHL ready of them all.

A lot of people seem to be pretty convinced the Flyers will be taking Samuel Morin at 11.

Alot of people on NHL network....Espn's guy has Nurse falling to us...i have seen a few with us taking Pulock, no one knows...I doubt we pick at 11

I totally agree...doesnt hurt that IF he plays this year he will have a fellow fin in Timonen to teach him a thing or two and get him comfortable to the town and the league

What's going to be real interesting to see. Is if the players who were brought out, sign at a discounted price, due to already seeing a lot of money going forward. Or will they just act like a normal Free Agent. And go for market value.
