I'd be agreeing to it, for the most part. - Jsaquella

Those guys are as close as they'll get outside the top 4.
I'm fine with trading, back, too. In fact, unless they absolutely love the guy at 11, I advocate moving back and trying to grab and extra 1st rounder - Jsaquella
Is there a player in particular you are leaning on? Or just to grab the best available when they pick |

I hope that they are still considering those offers and jump on them before those teams trade those picks. |

He won't -- Kris Letang isn't messing around with his money. I think that's been clear for a while now. - AllInForFlyers
I'd personally stay away from Letang. Our balance of offensive D to shutdown/physical D will be thrown off if we have Letang Timonen Streit and Gus. I think we should try to get a high draft pick while keeping the 11. Maybe Carolina would be if we offered Coburn, our 2015 1st and 3rd, and our 2014 2nd and 4th. They're asking price is apparently a 1st round pick (Presumably this year) and a top 4 dman. So maybe the 3 other picks we add will persuade them to bite. After that I'd draft the BAP at 5 and Ristolainen or Pulock at 11. |

I like Coburn and see a spot for him, but the 5th pick? Done.
I like Read a ton, as well, but he's going to be a UFA and ending up with 4 first rounders could set them up for a long time. |

Timonen is still very good defensively. And though Letang may have had a bad series against the Bruins. He is not a pushover defensively. He is normally a solid defender. I'd be more concerned about the cost in acquiring him.

no, he wasn't worth #7 apparently. (MJL, I do not know this for a fact, I'm only basing my answer here off of the latest rumblings from within this board. It may not be true and I understand that). |

If you think Matt Read can score 27-30 goals while playing in all situations in the Top 6, I could see Read and 41 for 22 and 28.
Again, Matt Read was just on Team Canada at the Worlds, playing 18 minutes a night. Somebody else thinks he can play, too. |

I think that they're probably holding out to see if anyone trumps what they have cooking. No need to rush now, maybe somebody has hard on for Coburn and bids higher.
But if I can parlay Coburn and Read into $5.4mm in cap space and 4 1st rounders, I got to admit, it'd be intriguing as Hell. |

The statement seemed to suggest that the Flyers weren't showing patience. And that he wished they would. It was pretty clear. There seems to be a myth that has developed in the fanbase, that the Flyers don't have a plan. I think the lack of patience is with the fanbase. And that's understandable. But when the Flyers radically changed direction, and traded 17 & 18. It was known that it wasn't going to be an overnight process. The process is still ongoing. - MJL

"Such a deal would likely look something like Brayden Schenn, Nick Cousins and the Flyers 2nd round pick" according to Ek. |

If the Flyers end up with 3 first rounders in this deep draft for Read and Coburn, I will be pretty amazed. |

Dreger reported that we had offers of 5th overall from CAR and 7th overall + a 3rd from EDM for Coburn?
Then Garrioch said Calgary offered their two lower firsts for Read + a 3rd?
Trade Read + Coburn and end up with 5th + 11th + 22nd + 28th?
Seriously? - Winning
can't be serious
all the talk out of the draft has been "it is very expensive to move up", especially into the top 4-5 picks
these guys are not giving out the full picture |

I know it doesnt make a difference but anyone remember the TB game this year and Luke and Vinnie randomly fought. I dont think they get along well. Again water under the bridge - AGL_91
That wasn't random. Vinny dumped Kimmo (?) then luke started yappin. Also, hockey players are probably the best in pro sports at "leaving it on the ice" |

I feel the dumb part of the fanbase complained about the Flyers down season and said that Homer needs to go. Then at the same time, they complain about the team being too impatient. You can only have it one way or the other. |
