I really hope Pronger decides to take Morin under his wing and really helps this kid in development as much as he can...I think the kid is gonna be a great pick. |

Interesting stuff from La Presse -- the Canadiens apparently wanted the Flyers' 11th pick ... to pick Morin. - Jsaquella

Perhaps, I keep hoping with alltgat offensive talent left in the draft and Nashville talking Jones, maybe Weber......too expensive. But man. Him and Kimmo would be outrageous |

They have a bunch of defensemen drafted from last season, too.
Took four and traded for another. - Jsaquella
Out of Goestibehere, Alt, Morin, Hagg and Lauridsen -- with Lauridsen obviously already having some experience, along with Manning and Konan, I personally believe that if you get two NHLers out of that, along with Erik Gustafsson who should be ready to play, that's no better or worse odds than other NHL teams.
They don't need them immediately, and depending on how this season goes, the Flyers will have a better feel for if they want to cash in one of the centers in a deal for additional help.

Ya plus we now have 2 defensive prospects that have the potential to be top-pairing guys. If you consider LSchenn a top pairing shutdown guy, then in a few years we don't really have room for a guy like Weber in the big picture. I think we just need more stopgaps like Streit to play until guys like Morin and Hagg are NHL ready in a few years. |

Flyers seventh rounder Drake is 6'4" 155 lbs.
How is that even possible? |
|
|

Just hope the flyers dont f*ck with these kids and rush them in. Hagg seems pretty grounded from his quotes, knows he needs to work on consistency.
I've calmed down, Morin is growing on me I guess.
The 3rd round pick is the flyers just being the flyers. - Just5
i feel like the project picks (morin, 2 high schoolers) indicate more of a long-term approach here, but who knows |

Despite the draft just happening today I see at least all three of these guys being able to make the permanent move to the NHL. Whether they become serious impact guys remains to be seen at this point. |

Didn't Homer say in a press conference that they need to take more priority in giving their Dmen enough time to develop? That's a positive sign. |

There's really no reason for those three guys not to make it, with proper development time -- they all have NHL frames, skating ability. Like everybody else, I'm sure, I watched the Samuel Morin video. He can turn, move his feet.
I don't believe in thinking negatively, but really, there's no good reason to believe that Alt, Morin and Hagg won't make it, at some point. I'm patient.

Agreed, im a bit more realistic and take Manning and Konan out. But still that leaves, Alt, Morin, Hagg, Gus, Ghost, and Ollie, hope half of them pan out as more than just fringe AHL/6/7 dmen in the NHL and you've done pretty well, not taking into account someone will be brought in via trade or free agency. This thought is also why i kinda want Coburn to stick around till Kimmo age's or so, every blue line needs an old wiley vet around playing in the back line and i hope it's him once Kimmo is gone and Streit is. It's amazing to think Coby is the longest serving member of this team, the guy is still only 28. If he can maintain his physical abilities i'd like him to be that veteran presence for the other guys and no reason to think he can't do that. He's a respected guy, who up until this season had been a guy who you could plug in for 80+ games each season. |
