I wanted Best Player Available...Morin would have been a good pick at 18 or 19, better players on board at 11. - Jsaquella
Who would you have taken at 11? |

Maybe he will be. How do you know he won't be? What do you know about Morin? |

Morin is 6'7, skates well and is tough as nails. I still think there may have been a deal to make, but I'm more than willing to be patient and give the kid a chance. The kid has the potential to turn into a beast if he can pack another 30-40 lbs onto his frame. |

The exact thing that almost every person on this site clamored for..drafting a dman..
So far 12 other teams have not picked Zadorov or Pulock.
I am ok with them drafting a shutdown dman.. Short of Jones\Risto + possibly Nurse most likely none of the dmen were help this year types. - opeth_pa
i'm not mad they drafted a dman i'm mad they didn't draft the best player |

Hinkie would have morin and a 2nd rounder to boot with the 11th position. There's a difference - Just5
Agreed. Guess Holmgren didn't pay attention the other night during his class session with Hinkie. |

there was this kid named domi |

No that would have (frank)ing been Zadorov.
Sometimes its hard with this team. Morin? Really?
With Zadorov, Morrissey and Pulock still on the board? - flyer_nutter
I don't know much about these kids. But the picked seemed like a reach. Who knows. He's not close to NHL ready. |

you know, I'm not that disappointed ... other than we didn't get Jones or the russian lindros.
for years we've been complaining how the Flyers haven't developed any D men ... well now we have one to develop, and the kid has a great upside.
I hope Homer finds a way to move up into the first and can snag another D man or two.

Sort of hard to say who is the best dman when you get beyond the previous 3 picked.
It's not as cut and dried as a forward.. Dmen take more time and I am ok with them trying to develop one vs taking yet another gritty 2 way center..

NO! YOU DON'T GET IT, E! We need offensive dmen who can make an impact right now! Defensive defenseman have no place in this league. SCORE SCORE SCORE!!!!! |

Maybe Pronger was so involved so they would know who out of Zadorov and Morin would end up being more like him. |

The year Shea Weber was drafted #42 or whatever... if a team saw into the future and knew what he'd be and decided to pick him like, #14, would people have groaned this much about it?
And as has been said... we don't know how easy it is to just trade around in the draft. All these rumors about Coburn may be just that, rumors with no real interest from one of the other sides. |
