Morin sounds like a decent prospect, just surprised they took him at 11 with a consensus ranking well over 20. |

Thats amazing when I thought about that...
Forsberg was ranked at 25 and the Flyers took him 6..

let's not forget that Laughton was thought of as a reach last year. He's now ranked as the 12th best player a year later. |

I guess we're going to find out how good of a mentor Pronger can be to a young d-man. - ravishingone
I like the idea of Pronger mentoring our young D guys.

then forsberg was traded which was also over a decade ago and the kings took an off the chart pick in hickey and flopped
so....? - 2Real
so we don't know a thing about these kids. complaining right now is kinda silly (unless they traded away their pick entirely or something like that). we have no idea what kind of player this kid will be, or what other orgs were offering to trade up, or even what other orgs were thinking about morin. can't we just wait and see before people get nuts? |

Most of the CHL guys I follow say Morin has average offensive upside, is a good skater and physical. I just think they could have traded down a bit and gotten him.
Who knows, maybe they can trade Coburn or Read and get another 1st and take another guy. - Jsaquella
I'm kinda hoping for that. |

It's also what was supposed to keep pucks away from Crosby's face, but look how that worked. |

I can't say I'm mad, I'm glad they went with a defenseman.
He has certain Pronger traits: big, physical, and mean.
But, he put up pretty bland numbers in a offensive league.
Also, he's, what, 4 years out? I'd have liked them to grab Pulock who can slide in in 1-2 years at most...maybe they trade for a 20-something pick and grab him too. |
