As @StapeNewsday first reported, Isles acquire Clutterbuck for Niederreiter. Confirmed

I think Clutterbuck would be great here but for Nino? Not so good. Like I said with the whole Nino situation, where there's smoke there is fire.... Snow wasn't dealing from a position of strength or he shat the bed.

I think it was a decent trade. Ninos days were numbered ever since his agent demanded a trade. I think Clutterbuck isn't enough of a return for Niño, but it's not a terrible deal.

Those people are still going to be mad though.

I guess Nino's value wasn't that high because he asked for a trade and they apparently have been shopping him for a while, but I'd think they'd get more. I guess it's better than nothing. Maybe Nino told Snow he wasn't going to report to Bridgeport this year and he was afraid they'd end up with nothing.

I agree but I have a funny feeling we will all love Clutterbuck unless of course Nino turns into that power forward that we all hoped. We all wanted Clutterbuck but at this price?

He was going to show up. He said so to foreign media and local. I get that there were issues between him, his agent and management, but the Isles had the leverage. Play him until his value increases.

I agree for once with you Jim. I think a lot of people on here underestimated the comments by Nino's agent and made believe there wasn't something to it. I hate it but at the same time I don't think Snow was dealing from a position of power which was his fault for not at the very least giving the kid a camp invite.

I don't hate it actually. There's JT's RW'er for next year.

I don't know about that. I do like Cal, but I think he's more of a bottom 6 checking line guy. Garth better have something crafty up his sleeve.

Nino also still doesn't skate particularly well. It's really not a terrible trade at all. Is it the ideal scenario? No, of course not, but Clutterbuck is a top 6 forward that can score and plays a big physical game. Pretty sure that's what I see everyone demanding for Tavares' wing.

One solid starter forward, Niño will get his goals but Clutterbuck plays with some edge.
