VAN was between a rock and a hard place with their goalie situation. They knew they had 2 options, trade Schneider and get value for him... or lose Luongo for nothing. Torts had nothing to do with it... however, Luongo is not happy with the trade... and Torts is going to be the mediator to Luongo's unhappiness.

So much grit and offensive skills. Since Nino didn't seem to fit in Isles plans at all, can't see a better deal that could have happen with him in the mix. Believe it, you'll have a damn nice hockey club to watch pretty soon.

Like the deal. Nino MAY get great. Clutterbuck is a solid player that hits like MARTIN.

Needed more toughness and now they have it.

A goalie, a dman and a forward to play with Tavares are still GLARING needs.

Daniel Friedman of WFAN tweeted that isles made an offer for Schneider and it was better than what the devils gave up. Most likely was 15th pick, and niederreiter. I think Vancouver took the devils offer because horvat might not have been on the board even though some mock drafts had him going to the isles at #15. If that would've happened, dp would be bought out the next day.

Tavares is like Crosby : you don't really need a great player by his side. You need a great player on the 2nd line, secondary scoring.

Need to consider if Moulson should continue on JT's line with the addition of clutterbuck. If he is to play as JT's rw, not much talent up front. More pressure on JT imo
