So you are not a rebuild fan. That's cool. I want my team to win every year, too, but I like the fact we have had 8 (I think) 1st and 2nd round picks just in the last 2 years to build around for the future, and hopefully our goalie will be a 24- year old with something to prove...and our forwards are all young, except for Van, Ott and Staff...never mind Leino, he's a wild card in my eyes.
- LandlordTom

No not a fan, how many more rebuild or retools does this team have to go through under Darcy? The cup was 3 years away when Pegula bought the team, now we are 4 years way from being good. Darcy keeps setting this team back.

Trading 3 picks for Bolland to mentor our youth is pointless. Ott is here and if Briere comes back it works. No need to give up picks for a mentor

Interesting draft.

Love the Risto pick, like the Zadorov pick even if it shocked me.

Not sure my feelins on the sekera deal yet

Of course the Toronto fans on their thread think it is the best move of the day.

Why trade for Bolland when we could pick guys that are 3-4 years if that away.
- SABRES 89

Because we already know next year we are not supposed to be good, remember?

You may change your opinion on mcbain after reading this....yipes.
Trade away sekera, a decent #4 dman for mcBain, a human pylon, and pick #35.
I'm not against picking up the #35 pick but mcBain?
Sounds like he was a trainwreck this past season...
and the sabres already had one of those > myers.

It's good for Toronto I like the move for them. They are going to be a very very good team. Especially if Bernier turns out to be a stud. They are building to be contenders

SOMEONE explain me this: Fucale gets rated as the best goalie with a .906 sv % on the best team in all of junior hockey

This Tristan Jarry kid has a .933 sv % and a 1.66 GAA in the OHL (better league, as a whole IMO)...and is a middle 2nd rd pick. He shouldve been picked above Fucale

- HAMgerber

I would have been ok if they took Jarry in the second rd

Sekera never made enough of an impact that his absence will be greatly missed. There might be a few spots here and there where we might say "we could have used Sekera here" but he's not a high impact player and never will be. Unless a player is one of those, I don't care if he is traded. You can get players that do what Sekera does anywhere and almost at any time.

Thank you. I know being logical around here is frowned upon at times but there overreaction about not getting a third line center needs to calm down a tad. Would I have liked him here sure but it doesn't make sense

I want to see a full 82 game schedule before I think that they are moving in the right direction.

Yes, I hate them.
