No not a fan, how many more rebuild or retools does this team have to go through under Darcy? The cup was 3 years away when Pegula bought the team, now we are 4 years way from being good. Darcy keeps setting this team back. - SABRES 89
The original core Pegs bought is all but gone now--2 years later. New core, new pieces that need playing time, new almost everything to me is going to finally be fun to watch again, win or lose. Probably lose but at least we won't have the illusion that we will win for a while.
AND we don't have young-talent-killer Lindy behind the bench!!!!

I know we don't think much of ESPN.
Rasmus Ristolainen
Pick analysis: The Sabres get a hulking D-man with true grit and a big-time shot from the point. He plays the game with a nasty edge and I think he'll grows more into his big body. His skating needs a slight improvement. He is the type of player you can build around and the Sabres are in need of building blocks. -- Sonier
Team analysis: The second big, right-shot defenseman off the board. Scouts loved his defensive play, among the highest-ranked of all prospects in the draft. Projected two-way defenseman, but not NHL-ready for next season. I love his playmaking and uses his size and strength, his compete level is off the charts. And like Grant mentioned, he has a bomb of a shot. He'll be a nice building block for the Sabres going forward. -- Starman
Nikita Zadorov
Pick analysis: Zadorov, for me, is a complete steal for the Sabres at 16. He has a chance to become a true shutdown D who makes people pay a price every single shift. His skating and range are exceptional for being 6-5 and 240 pounds. He is willing to fight and hit and in time could become a fan favorite. He needs time to figure out his puck game, but is certainly not devoid of puck skills. -- Sonier
Team analysis: The Sabres have added almost 13 feet of defensemen in this draft. He's a nice combination of mean and skilled. He's got a big shot and generates a lot of scrambles. He's a good skater for a big man, which will accelerate his development. -- Starman |

He is definitely a very talented hockey player with so much potential and the pro game could be a reality with his size and skills. A good skater who has good offensive instincts as he protects the puck well, works along the walls and corners, and knows how to find the back of the net too. One improvement would be to play more aggressive and use size advantage more often in physical play. Watched in Tier I U16 Nationals in March (Buffalo, NY) and could tell he has talent but didn’t put it into the next gear and take over like he is capable of doing. Scored a nice goal in All-Star game Friday morning with nifty move around defensman on off-wing and then releasing a quick snap shot short-side low. Rumor in Rochester was he was not only headed to NTDP, but taking his game to the OHL with Kitchener. His talents deserved to make the Ivan Hlinka team for USA.

all three kids in the second rd bring energy for every shift and each have offensive upside

Interesting draft.
Love the Risto pick, like the Zadorov pick even if it shocked me.
Not sure my feelins on the sekera deal yet - CaptPantalones
Slick move by Darcy. He moves out salary, gets a solid D man and a Pic.
Pysyk is in Buffalo next for sure. |

I know so many people dont like the picks, but Im very happy with them. This really could turn out like the Preds draf in 03 where they went Suter and Weber

My batman, you're still drunk. Larsson scored 16 goals last year in his first AHL season. If you are going to rant, try to get the facts right. - truthbluth
wow 16 goals!!! Larrson is the next Brett Hull. My point is that he is a non scorer and buffalo can't score goals. |

1st year in the AHL man. Not everyone is going to light it up. He is looking like a 3rd liner, we knew that when we got him. |

Although I wish they would have taken Nichushkin, I think we've had one of the best drafts, along with Van and TB |
