I think Ristolainen was likely the number 2 guy on his list.
I think 1 of Monahan/Lindholm was #1, and I suspect Carolina wanted more then just Sekera to make this deal and Regier decided there wasnt enough of a difference between the 2 players to make it - CaptPantalones
Agree, that all makes sense |

Anyone think the Stafford to Capitals deal is back on the table? Maybe has to be tweaked a bit? |

I thought u didn't want to talk to me anymore
And of course, no one KNOWS,
But obviously that's my OPINION
And the two Dmen we picked are freaking GREAT picks
ESP since we got Bailey & Compher in the 2nd
Also very good picks
I'm not psyched about that high school kid though
I would've liked Santini - jdfitz77

I don't know if i like the 8th pick but at the same time i can't say i hate it. I would have like to of drafted Nichuskin with the 8th pick but i understand why they did not draft him. But i do love the 16th pick and the 52nd pick.
NOW PLEASE TRADE DREW STAFFORD
I like Stafford but i feel that i can put that 4m cap to better use like resigning Vanek or signing Horton. - mike13wilkins
I don't think it'll happen till the deadline |

No. I would have loved Lindholm but we got Compher, Ristolainen and McBain by not making that deal. I can live with that - OneKaneOneCup
Ditto. I was upset... but at the same time, I really didn't want to move up and lose some of our additional picks. |

Vanek would get paid if he wants to be here. Basically the same deal he is on now. Trading Sekera and Stafford frees up about 5.5 million in cap space. Idk if you can get Horton to come here though. I think they are making a run for next years FA class |

Born one day later and he is probably a 1st round pick next year. Lets see if its a waste in 4 or 5 years when the kid is 22. - BigStew
If Hurley doesn't turn out it won't really hurt us seeing as we have several picks in the first couple rounds.
If Hurley turns out he could potentially be the biggest steal in the 2013 draft.
I personally love the pick |

Hurley could end up being the steal of the draft. I've seen him listed around 22-30 on some mock drafts. He is the youngest player in the draft. Another year he could be a top 10 pick. Who knows. Gotta wait and see how he develops |

Kind of the way I see it but he could do very little just like 60% of the second round picks in this draft.

Chicks dig the long ball. But small ball wins games. It's not always pretty but it's more effective.
Sorry for the baseball analogy but this is going to be a process. These picks prove that. |

There's still some really good talent out there!
I'm excited to see the 3rd round pick
Duclair still available
And Slepyshev & Buchnevich falling bc of the Russian factor,
But both are 1st round talents |
