You know something, whether I agree with what the Sabres are doing or not doing doesn't make me right or wrong, just like if people agree with me or don't agree with me doesn't make them right or wrong. Matter of opinion and my opinions sometimes don't mesh with others, once again not it's a not a right or wrong thing.

Paul Hamilton said McBain will be playing in Rochester. The Sabres just wanted the pick.

I think that's his opinion

Going to win games 1-0, 2-1?
- Irish 14

Why not . It could lower Millers save % too. Not that it matters if he leaves next season for nothing .

That doesn't make too much sense. He's only 25. There's no way he'd clear waivers.
- buffalofan19

He spoke to Darcy and got that impression. And Carolina just wanted to get rid of him. Ristolainen will be starting up here.

It does if you just wanted rid of Sekera and don't care about McBain.

There are still a bunch of teams with a huge need in goal. With Schneider and Bernier moving to teams that weren't thought to be in on the new goalie offseason sweepstakes, I think Miller's value has never been higher. Philly and NYI need a #1 goalie no matter what and you could potentially throw Pittsburgh into the mix. Would have loved to see Miller and Stafford going to NYI for a package of Nino and Okposo, but with Okposo's playoff performance, he may have vaulted himself into "untouchable" status for the time being, or at the very least he bought himself another change on Long Island. Anyway, I don't think there is anyway that Miller is on this team come October. Just wish it would have happened today.

Hodgson, Ennis, Grigorenko, Girgensons, Armia...
All 1st round picks
All very young and getting better

Plus, we are going to draft very high the next two seasons

Chicago also has Seabrook & Keith
Boston has Chara

Before today, we really didn't have any physical "shutdown" defensemen that could play big minutes
Now we have two!
And that's also very necessary for most cup winning teams

- jdfitz77

This draft was compared to 2003. Look at the forwards that came from that.
Itwas a once in a decade draft for forwards. I would trade Ennis he hasnt shown much on wing.. Hodson is a better Roy. Bergeron was willing to die to win a cup. I cant get Hodson to backcheck. Grigerenko might be ok someday. Armia has never played at this level here.

Clutterbuck: not a difference maker

Bolland: not a difference maker on a rebuilding team, and has only one year left on his contract. The only way he stays long term is if the Sabres overpay him.

Schneider: not worth the first round pick if you're rebuilding.

I am as firmly on the "Darcy Regier needs to get out of here" train as anyone, but I don't find myself really upset that Regier didn't make any of those moves. There's a longer list of prior year offenses that come way before anything that happened today.

- buffalofan19

That's really tough to say? We don't know what Regier as been offered, I think Devine is doing his job with the scouting dept. But just can't go along with Darcy.

What is the identity of this team going to be? Don't come in front of our net 2014!

But who scores the goals up front?

I don't necessarily doubt that Regier may have created a sort of "false impression" on what the plans for McBain are. Logistically, it just doesn't make much sense.

It's not going to be 2014. Ristolainen isn't a big nasty lunkhead. He comes across as more of a "take a hit to make a play" type of guy (which the Sabres also sorely lack). He won't be afraid of contact, but he also won't go out of his way to initiate it either.

I dont see how McBain is in the AHL next year, worst case he is the 7th man behind McNabb and Ruhwedel

I disagree with him

and there is no chance they determine who will make the opening roster right now, given their play the last 6 years
