I Over reacted when I saw back to back D-men picks. But in reality. If these 2 were in different drafts they are top 5-10 picks. They bring size and grit on the back end with offensive ability. The second round was good, people may not be high on the High school kid but he is the youngest player in the draft and he is going to a very good school that will teach him great fundamental hockey.

I am a little bummed we didn't get Rychel or Mantha though, but what can you do.

a one way deal means that he makes the same salary in the ahl as he does in the nhl. It has nothing to do with waivers.

A two way deal means that you make less in the minors than you make in the nhl. It has nothing to do with waivers.

Waivers are based on how many years since you sign your first pro contract. Then, if you play a certain number of games within your entry level contract, you become waiver eligible.

He's played 7 games. He does not have to clear waivers

and he's on a 2-way deal (not that it matters)

I said I wasnt thrilled with the Hurley pick, and Ill offer my reasoning. Hes the youngest player in the draft and is going to a college (Notre Dame) that plays a very defensive first system. Hes going to have to work extremely hard to be creative on a team known for playing defense first.

Thats what Im looking for. Criticism with substance. "I dont like it" isnt going to cut it. It just shows a lack of intelligence on the subject and, as usual from you, a trend of general negativity

Look, everyone has a counter for everything and everyone's an expert and all that jazz. I have my opinion of the situation, the draft, this team and our front office. I'm very comfortable with it and in sports where nothing is right or wrong and only time will tell, I'll just stay over here with it.

So if everyone wants to 'stick' when they have 15 instead of taking a risk and saying "hit me" then y'all go and knock yourself out and enjoy our 'elite' defense in 2018.

I get what you are saying but I don't see the value in trading a franchise goalie a 40 goal scorer a could be franchise d and two first round picks (who could turn out to be franchise shut down partners) for the 1st overal and even that's not guaranteed to turn a franchise around
