Just understand Ristolainen wouldn't be regarded as the 2nd best defenceman in the draft for no reason what-so-ever. Have some optimism. I mean, with Armia coming in around the same time as Risto, the comfort level will most likely be there, making the transition easy. Grigo is already familiar with the area.

Whatever makes you feel better. The top four teams alone drafted better with one guy because they now have elite difference makers on their team. Colorado and Tampa can roll some sick lines full of talent and Nashville will have a legit pairing again.

Meanwhile Buffalo has their AHL calibur forward group, defense that MIGHT be good by the time we elect the next President, and two of our stars don't even want to be here anymore.

Can't wait to hear about a Darcy extension soon.

That is not what I said. Anyone Darcy drafts in the 1st round probably won't amount to anything significant. I have 16 years worth of drafts to support my opinion. What do you have to refute that evidence? A scouting report? Those are never biased....or wrong...

Come on....by the time the defence is Solid the forward prospects will be NHL ready. It takes a year or two lonnger to develop defenceman so of course draft them this year and forwards next year or trade Miller and Vanek for forward prospects that are NHL ready.....people need to calm down.

Trust me if this team in 2 or 3 years is still horrible I will be sabres89 biggest supporter.

Nil might think he is NHL ready but what if Lindy doesn't? Then there is a huge issue to deal with. I would have liked him here but I can understand why we passed on him

2005 - we flopped on Zagrapan. 9 other teams flopped this round, too.

2006 - we flopped on Persson. We could have got Berglund or Nick Foligno. But we got Persson (Berglund's team mate). Pretty much everyone after that flopped too, since you don't see any of them. But nope, all Darcy's fault.

2007 - LOL NOPE

2008 - Tyler 1 and Tyler 2. Myers has a Calder and will impress everyone when he simplifies his game. Ennis? Why hate on him? No, really.

2009 - Kassian a.k.a. Cody Hodgson. We've only had him for a year plus, forced him a ton of responsibility right away. Better than Roy. Why hate?

2010 - Pysyk. I don't know about you, but this kid has a real good cerebral handle of the game. I don't notice too many mistakes in his game, skates smooth and makes good decisions.

2011 - You're telling me you wouldn't take Armia 16th over-all?

Point being, other teams flop, too. Sometimes you get lucky. Sometimes things don't project the way you think.

Excellent work. The entire draft is a crap shoot, you hope one of the players you draft turns out to be a NHLer

Well that is a very innacurate statement based on opinion.

19 percent of people drafted into the NHL go on to play at least 200 games.

First round draft picks have a 63 percent chance of making the NHL.

that is a lot less then most....most is more like 3-4 percent...do some research.
