I lived in S Carolina for 10+ years.
I liked it, my wife hated it.
It is a hockey backwater though.
Great golf, nice beaches, college football is #1.
Good "groceries" (food). - Marc D
South Carolina sucks.

I thought that this year as a special exemption it was changed to be $10 over due to the decrease in the cap. It's normally 10% over max.
EDIT: I'm gonna make you look it up MJL, I have a meeting to run
- FlyersGrace
You could be right, but I haven't seen that. |

so everyone except Kessel?
Nice for Wellwood, I thought with that injury he might get left out. - Marc D
Kessel and Mitch Wahl were not tendered. Wahl was acquired during the season for Mike Testwuide |

I saw this earlier but why did we have the lockout again? 5.6 for Bob with how many games played? Mike Smith signs for about the same, this was a journeyman before Pheonix. Just seems like we will be in the very same spot next go round luckily that wont be for another 8 years. - flyerfan28
The middle class of players are going to see the salary crunch. Top players in important positions, are still going to get paid. |

Issac has Gustafsson's qualifying offer at 850,000.
I thought he was already at 900K and had to get a raise.
I am missing something here. |

Dave Tippet is apparently very good at making mediocre goaltenders very wealthy.
Smart move on the term of Bob's contract, fwiw. - johndewar

I was actually referring to Mike Smith and our old friend Bryz with that remark.

I don't think anyone gets dealt, per se (but it's possible).
One thing I think it would mean is that Schenn or someone else moves to wing. |

Yeah I doubt that they move any of the young guys. But the chances of Gagne signing go down. |

I think it's supposed to be a 10% raise. However, since the cap went down, the max. 2-way contract value could have also gone down. |

So here's a nice video that talks a little bit about Morin and Hagg. Click on the video player, apparently Robert's name is pronounced Hegg
Starts with Morin at 00:55 and then goes on to talk about Hagg

edit: it's in english obviously, even if it is a swedish hockey site - Yosimar89

Let me start off by saying this is no indication on Morin. I think he has all the potential to become what they say he can become.
What pisses me off is the Flyers staying put to take him. I'm sorry, but Nichushkin dropped to 10. Flyers should have either traded up for him, or traded down and picked Morin, or Zadarov there. It was a bad pick, and you cant even attribute it to picking by need, because there were players that met need that were passed by.
Hell, it might have been possible to get Morin and Shinkaruk if they traded down... or Furcal... It just doesn't make sense.
Homer just put his neck on the chopping block. He is going to need to do something big to get his head out from under the guliteen. I'm still hopeful, just worried.
So despite it being a boring draft from the Flyers I still had fun. At least until I reached Mount Laurel on the NJ Turnpick and my Front right tire blewout on the ride home.... That was fun... |

One good thing about "reaching" for a pick is the affect you have on that kid. He knows what the media is saying. I wouldn't discount the psychological impact that can have on a player when Holmgren looks him dead in the eye and says "I believe in you over and above everyone else still on the board. Don't let me down." It won't impact everyone but it has to be a huge motivator to KNOW you went to a team who really wanted you.

I would think the signing of Gagne would go up. I think he may be the one "brokering" the deal. |

Considering Pullock and Zadorov were picked at 15 and 16 I would say a trade down to right about ther would have landed you 1 of the 3, which are likely about equal players.
I would say there is reason to believe that if Flyers trade that pick, both the abouve get picked before Morin. |

In the first 35 only two trades were made for picks. What makes you think anyone was moving their picks when no one did? It's easy for you to sit here and say move down without knowing if it's possible, assuming it is and condemning someone for not doing it.
Ed Snider was sitting right there. If there was a problem with the picks they would have addressed it then. |

id take Morin over Pullock and Zadorov
and the other teams need to be willing to trade up |
