@D_LEED: In fact, I'd even move a defenseman out, clear space and claim Russell or sign Blum. Seems smart to me.
I kind of agree with him! - stveshdy

Trust me he will see plenty of time on the PK. He is ready for 4th line duty. He's just ready - Just5
Max Talbot was also a pretty damn good junior player. I would more so compare Laughton to Talbot. Max Talbot saw his junior career through while seeing time in the AHL. I feel Laughton should seek the same path. We were hurting at the dot last season, I do not wanna see a repeat. |

That is extremely doubtful. Unless he looks absolutely horrible in Camp. He's not going back to Juniors for a 4th Season. - MJL
Couturier had to be extrememly effective in camp to make the team. If Laughton is only planned for the 4th line I doubt the Flyers will want to start his professional contract for 4th line duty. Now if Couts or Schenn are moved, or if they plan on playing Laughton on the 3rd line, then yes he will make the team. But I think if Couturier and Schenn stay on the team, at center, then Laughton will either be sent back to juniors or traded. |

Good idea.
Either have Gus or Russell/Blum in the top-4, or have a 3rd pairing of offensive-minded smurfs.
/not a good idea |

Big finesse guys aren't exempt from decline... look at what time did to Yashin and Nedved. - Tomahawk
Once you post a 50 goal 100pt plus Season. It's usually downhill from there for most players. The question really is not is he in decline. It's if at his current rate of play, is he worth 5M for 5 years. I would lean towards no. Regardless of if he's in decline or not. |

A 4th Junior Season would be a waste. Playing even a limited role in the NHL will be better for his develpment, then another year of beating up on younger, less physically matured players, as an overager in Juniors. - MJL
Sounds like a rush of development to me. |

We signed Steit. I thought he'd be the bridge to Syvret but I guess Marc Staal will have to hold it down for the Rangers until Syvret is NHL ready. - mayorofangrytown

Flyers should walk away if its for five years. Getting him for three is probably my worth the risk. Doubtful he signs that though! |

He was great for us this season and I'll be sad to see him go but I'm not shocked. He wanted more shine time to score goals...
I'll miss his infectious smile.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they tried him out and sent him back to junior before his 9th game. |

I disagree with that. I think the Flyers plan to do exactly that. They will have no problem with Laughton on the 4th line. Unless Laughton looks so horrible that there's no way they can keep him, which is very doubtful. He's pretty much a lock to make the team. If he's not traded. |
