I lean towards your opinion on Laughton, with respect to his 4th year of junior.
It's going to come down to whether or not Laviolette and company think the kid can contribute, regularly, over the course of an 82 game schedule.
I also think comparisons I've seen in these discussions to either Richards or Couturier are misguided. He's neither one of those guys from what I've read and he certainly doesn't have the junior hockey pedigree that either one of those players had.
If the kid can take pressure off of Giroux on draws and such, great. I'm all for keeping him around. - johndewar
Any good 2-way center is going to draw comparisons to Richards, but he's not Richards. I see him having a similar career path, starting out as a defensive 4th liner who can provide some energy, takes some draws, and get PK time as well as spot 3rd line time. Eventually, he projects as a top-9, whereas Richards projected as a top-6. |

Like I said, Max Talbot put up similar numbers and still saw his junior career through and still saw some polishing in the AHL. Such players as Brayden Schenn and Claude Giroux deemed themselves ready early and were not. They needed a little extra time, even at the junior and AHL level. - dingo8urbaby
How many years of Juniors did Talbot and Giroux play? |

I think talbot played like 30-something AHL games but spent the better part of 05/06 with the big Pens. Not sure if he played juniors or AHL during 04/05 (not sure of his age either).
And Giroux spent like 2 months lighting up the AHL. |

This is a good way to say what I am thinking. I just dont want to wait 4-5 years for Schenn and Coutuier to develop while Giroux is at his prime and Voracek and Simmonds are on the verge of coming into thiers. - youarewrong
and honestly that kind of thinking is why the Flyers are in the position they are year after year trading away their young players. It frustrates me to no end. I am not against Vinny at all but not if the end results is trading away a 20/22 year old player |

Per three sources the Lecavalier sweeps looks to be down to Dallas and Philly. That is for now of course. Teams can jump in or out still and we could hear something as early as today or tomorrow... - Winning

I don't think so. Someone (Craig Button?) on NHL Network said yesterday they were focused on Zubrus and Clarkson first because they figure Elias won't likely walk. - Flyskippy
I am paying more attention to him after the Morin to the Flyers prediction.
I was very surprised and he had it right! |

Apparently it's down to 2 teams, except for all of the other ones, and we might or might not hear something soon. |

im not ready to build him a statue yet. All he's done is tear it down. let's see how he builds it up.
meanwhile the Pelicans now have Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday and have an offer sheet into Tyreke Evans. |

Lebrun says that we will most likely know at some point tomorrow. With FA's being about to speak with teams at midnight tonight, all signs point to Vinny making a decision prior to July 5th at noon. |
