So adding Pronger, Giroux breaking out, Richie taking out Krejci, Leino/Leighton/Boucher playing out of their pay grades had nothing to do with that run? OK. - Tomahawk
It takes ALOT of elements to win a cup. Its not just draft, add water and dont touch. |

Correct. You have to first suck for 8 consecutive years, get threatened with moving to KC, have your franchise saved by the best player to ever lace them up due to the fact you never paid him for his services, THEN you draft and add water. |

I was there too. Prolific use of "the f word" during that shootout. I know Briere score, Richards got stopped, Giroux scored, and I remember Jokinen got stopped. I also remember Boosh falling down, and I remember that EK was a shooter and he almost always scored. - jmatchett383
f***ing great game
I was so pumped after that because I was certain they would lose, especially in the shoot out
Torts kept Gaborik on the bench and used Jokinen, crazy |

I personally think the idea of getting bigger is overblown. We need guys who play big. |

People are acting like its only 1 thing that would make the decision on whether or not Laughton is brought up. Everything has to be considered. Where will he develop best? Will it be better to have him play 4th line and burn a elc year, or play top minutes in junior and bring him up with more playing time in AHL or NHL? Do they want to take a 1.3 million cap hit on the 4th line?
In my opinion Laughton might just make the team, but I have a feeling it will be as a 3rd line center. With either Schenn moving to wing, or Couturier being traded, or both. I think if the only position available to him would be the 4th line, I think he goes back to juniors 1 more year.
It would be a completely different story if he was eligable for AHL this year, sure they keep him. He can move up and down as need and based on his play. But you dont have that option here. Couturier was so good they kept him on a 9 game trial, and Schenn was hurt, so couts was playing 3rd line most of the time for the first half that season. Its no exactly the same comaprison. |

They did go 12 years without winning a playoff game. |

That is why Homer signed him to the 3 yr deal, he saw how awesome big Jody's scoring touch was
- Marc D
He also scored against the Flyers the game previous. It's absolutely why he was signed to a 3 year deal. Anyone who thinks otherwise has to have their head examined.

loved Jokinen doing like 6 laps around the ice before finally taking the puck at center
*6 is a complete exaggeration |

So with Emery off the market, other than Thomas, and Halak what are the realistic goaltending options? |

Also, we traded John Carlson/Jacob Markstrom for Steve Eminger due to 1 good playoff game. |

@D_LEED: In fact, I'd even move a defenseman out, clear space and claim Russell or sign Blum. Seems smart to me.
I kind of agree with him! - stveshdy
I was going to ask, if anyone here had interest in the waiver boys today. Kris Russell, Greg Zanon, Hall Gill, Matt Hunwick. Also, can anyone confirm that Blum was not qualified? My take would be to claim Russell, sign Blum, and deal a higher salary d-man.
Also, Ballard cleared waivers and Jeff Shultz is on buyout waivers today. If Ballard gets put on buyout waivers, do we have any interest in either of these guys? Lots of 4-6 d-men becoming available, some younger ones too. |
