It's all connected though, isn't it?
If your hip loses strength during a quick movement, and your knee isn't able to be kept in position, couldn't that injury be because of the hip?
I'm just asking if its possible. I like the guy and i'm not concerned with his hip. - Flyersgod
It COULD, yes. But usually, connected injuries are caused because to lower supporting bone is too weak to support the mass above it. But I guess with the positions that a goalie has to get into, it could be connected to a degree. |

Worst case scenario, you have a guy who stinks, is a constant distraction, and is probably carrying a high cap hit and NMC.... doesn't that sound familiar.
Flyers logic. - Tomahawk
On a 1 year contract though.

I meant in general. I'm in no way trying to connect his knee injury to his hip disease in this case. More of a learning all that I can before we sign the guy and he loses both his legs playing NHL13 on PS3 and an electrical surge hits him and blows him through a wall, legs first. |

Because, you know... Flyers have been so careful not to hand out multi-year deals to 35+ players. |

Yeah, they'd definitely need to have him pass a full physical unlike the Kings/Ryan Smyth debacle. Like I said, for a low-cost 1-2 year deal, I'm okay with it.
By the way, he's under 35, right? |

Excellent point. Didn't see from that angle. It would make sense for the Flyers to sign him to a 4 year 25 million dollar contract. Well, it would make sense to Flyers management, at least.

Also, I have this horrible feeling that Homer will believe that we need to give a young, struggling goalie a chance and give a fresh start to that former first-overall, can't-miss prospect know as Rick DiPietro. |

DP on a 1 year deal would be preferable to Tim Thomas, as far as I'm concerned.

He'd get at least 6 games in before going down with a season-ending injury. |

What?
Injuries have left him useless as an NHL (or even AHL) option. A rotten, decayed corpse of the former #1 pick. |

How you said that and kept a straight face will forever be a mystery to me.
I'd rather Leighton over RichardPunchrio. |

That was as much a statement as to how little I want Tim Thomas around than anything else. |

Rick Depietro is about as useless as a red light in grand theft auto |

He'd make 4 highlight reel saves a game, have us going 5-0 (Mason would be 1-0 as his backuo) and in game 6, have a season-ending leg break caused by him tripping on the way to the locker room after the second period.
Or he'd challenge the other team's backup to a fight and get 1-punch KO'd. |

That game franchise exists solely to stress safe driving rules. |

Tim Thomas does not help this franchise move forward, IMO.
You call in a guy like Thomas when you think you're close to winning a Cup and you're a veteran goaltender away from possibly winning it.
The Flyers are not close to winning a Cup and they shouldn't be entertaining the notion of bringing in Thomas, but we all know they are likely discussing it seriously. |

To each their own, but Thomas would be an upgrade over Mason imo. |
