Flyers Logic - Tomahawk
I like to think I've been open minded about their moves, too. Vinny's no scrub, either, but why rush onto this? UGH. |

couturier
please - Don'tForgetTocchet
makes more sense to trade Schenn if anyone. Schenn would fulfill a similar role as Vinnie - offensive driver for 2nd line to take matchup pressure away from 1st line. Couturier's defense now becomes more important than Schenn's offensive contribution. |

Well, we just need to let it play out. I'm not enthused with it. I'd rather use the Cap space to upgrade the defense. Adding both Streit and Lecavalier is going to make it more difficult to add that top defenseman, if a situation arises where one is available. - MJL
Yeah, it's going to be really tough to add that stud dman under the cap, and makes extending our kids very very difficult. |

Ugh, and we still haven't seen the offseason yet. I'm restraining myself here - BulliesPhan87
Wait to see what happens Friday. No arguing that Lecavalier makes the Flyers immediately better. He's a big centerman who can win faceoffs, and play a solid game at ES and on special teams.

I don't know how people don't have a serious problem with this. Not that we just signed an awesome player, but Ek was actually right on this one. Does that really not concern you guys as much as me? - JAKEw1234
Pretty sure this is one of the signs of the apocalypse.

It's clear he was promised they would try to win right now. Other than him being on the east coast, which matters to him, it's obvious they promised him they would make moves to win right now. - AllInForFlyers

Which is always their game plan. I don't have an issue with the signing if they get some d help and sign a good back up. I just know that one of these real good young players all but gone. But, you have to give to receive. Or if you're married you have to give to..ah..give more. |

Matt Read is not going to be back now. Trade bait - Winning
Why would you trade a fantastic young player who is signed to a paltry .9mill contract for next season
Love the Lecav addition, the Flyers were sorely missing a big man center.

Kimmo comes off, Meszaros won't be here. That takes care of Giroux's extension, right there. Schenn's extension won't be more than $3.5, unless he breaks out.
Cap will probably go up next year to $67 million or so; revenues were just fine for the 48 games last year.
It'll work. Hell, you could move Coburn tonight, if you wanted to. |

This move allows Homer to at least make a call to Nashville about Jones.
You know Nashville wasn't thrilled the top 3 forwards were off the board when they picked. I'm sure Weber wasn't either. |

Well, I have a feeling that one of the young kids is going to be traded. If it brings in a young player in return, for a position of need, then I'm okay with that. But not if it brings in another veteran. Because if they add another older defenseman, along with Lecavalier and Streit. While moving out youth. It may make them better now. But possibly less better, in the future. |

It's definitely not the player I'm frustrated with, but this really feels like they signed him because they could, and I feel like now they'll make a trade just because they can. Maybe I'll be proven wrong. |

Doubt that. They could have taken Valarie Nushshooz. If they call about anyone, it's yuou know who. But I can promise you this, the price just went up for him. |
