Thanks! Yeah, I left a little room for callups. Now, one last question, because I can never tell if I did it right: That's with Pronger LTIR? Because I think the Flyers can actually field a roster with Couturier and Schenn, with another goalie at $2.5 million, without Pronger on LTIR?
Or did I do the math wrong? - AllInForFlyers
I think you have the math right. The Flyers can do all that without putting Pronger on LTIR. Which they should avoid doing, if possible.

any other franchise signs him and it's a great deal. the flyers sign him and everyone's an expert. homer sucks. flyers suck. contract sucks. blah blah blah. everyone can just (frank) off. i like the player. don't love the contract, but it is what it is. he will help them in every area. i'm on board. no point in being pissed about it.
move a couple of dmen, get a goalie, and be done with it.
let's roll. - hammarby31
I pointed out on Ek's board that according to Toronto fans, if Philly signs him he's washed up, if the Leafs sign him he's the next coming of Sundin |

well what's changed is, again, compared to last year when Couts was coming off a nice offensive year for a rookie, he seemed to have a setback in that department this year.
the other change is the Flyers just acquired a tall, 2-way center - Crimsoninja
Changed as in what scenario we think the Flyers would be willing to trade Couturier. I don't think that has changed. Or at least I hope it hasn't. Not sure I would call Lecavalier a 2 way Center.

yeah good point on the bolded. wishful thinking on my part

From Cloutier's blog that he just posted.
for the record, i dont think he has a good handle on things.. but still interesting
You people aren't going to like this. I heard the rumor today that it will be Magnus Paajarvi will be the principle asset going back in a deal, but I don't believe the Oilers will do that. Or at least, not yet. Maybe if they sign two or three UFA forwards first. The player the Oilers will move for Coburn will be Ladislav Smid.
Or...
The Oilers will deal Paajarvi to get Coburn, and will then move Smid to bring in a forward. Either way, Smid is going. |

Can someone answer this what's to stop the flyers from having a gentlemans agreement with player a(hypothetically Tim Thomas )
And signing him on the second day of the season after LTIR ing pronger
Ie 4.9 million available and then give Thomas say a 1 yr 3 million contract
Thx in advance

Idk I guess it would be why would Thomas do that if he has offers from other teams? |

They don't need to do that. If they trade a defenseman as expected. They'll have to space to not have to put Pronger on LTIR.
