Does anyone else see a Coburn/Read/Mez or Coburn/Read/Grossmann trade coming? |

I'd love to see gagne back He would fillout the 3rd line nicely. Can they put Rosehill on waivers so he can be sent down if he clears? Or does he have too many years. |

C'mon where's the action in here!!!
Vinny vinny vinny!!!
That TB poster a whole back brought up the fact that he has been playing with garbage wingers for years now. He has played away from stamkos and st Louis.
Now I guess u can look at it and say well he's avoided top shutdown lines then
I'm excited. The flyers really needed this shot in the arm. Don't think the streit signing was cutting it there |

Rosehill can be sent down, but the savings would be minimal. |

could almost see schenn being moved for a winger if we don't acquire a dman. not that i'm in favor of that, but i could see it happening |

Minimal savings or not if it helps stay away from LTIR I'm Ok with it. The little nits start to eat at the cap since the Flyers like to spend right up to the limit.
Bartulis+Rosehill+Bonus rollover =
100+675+182 = 957K.
Better ways to spend a million dollars. |

If that could get us Edler I would up Vancouver. Too bad it can't
To Winnipeg for Bogosian? Nah they wouldn't take that
Maybe for a blue-chip defensive prospect? We have a few of those but 1 more couldn't hurt. Maybe the 3 to Edmonton for Klefbom? |

With all these defense men on he market. I believe that Mez is completely untradeable now. I do expect coburn to get dealt. |

or just play Schenn on the wing.
I'd only move him for a huge defensive upgrade. |

i agree even though i don't see schenn as effective a winger as center. real logjam in the middle...just sayin' and knowing homer... |

I think Homer is systematically addressing the key needs of the Flyers. He cut the fat with Bryz and Briere (addition by subtraction, esp with Bryz), he added a top puck moving D man, beating lots of teams to the punch in trading for and adding Streit, he got bigger up front (something he said he wanted to do) with Lecavalier. I am pret-tay, pret-tay impressed. A tip of the cap (no pun intended) to Snider and Comcast as well, for greenlighting the buyouts...that's a lot of coin they are eating.
I don't know what's coming, but I would imagine it would involve jettisoning a D man or two (Mez/Coby) and possibly acquiring an upgrade there (hopefully without giving up top assets, but you have to give to get if the player is worth it (i.e, top pairing caliber D man under 30 yrs old).
If I were them right now, I'd:
1- Lose a D man: Mez or possibly Coby depending on the deal...
2- Sign a short term veteran goalie: Thomas - ideally 1 year deal, 2 max...3-4 mil max...Emery 2-3 yrs, 2.5 mil max per, Nabokov 2-3 mil 1 or 2 yrs., Theodore, or maybe a trade for Halak or give a Khodobin a shot on a Mason like contract and see if one of them emerges...
3 - SIGN GAGNE - he's going to want to be part of this thing...he'll take a discount and he's still a very good two-way hockey player.

They could always go back to the Lavy special -- play Couturier on the 4th line.
And have Schenn center the 3rd. |
