Can we not compare prospects to players/former players? All players are unique, and as gay as that sounds not all CHL D men turn out the same

it's fun, but unfair to players. Someone compared Nurse to Teubert because they're both defensive D men from the CHL. Completely unfair to nurse to be compared to a failed career because he plays defence.

Look around the league at all the terrific Dmen taken in the top 5 and you'll find like 2 and then a bunch of 2nd and 3rd rounders and the odd late round pick leading their bluelines.

My argument, and Sanford's was that its ridiculous to assume that all the teams in the top 3 are idiots for passing on Jones and taking potential franchise building forwards instead. Then we presented a bunch of names of dmen taken in the top 5, showed how many of them were average 2nd pairing defenceman while the forwards were all top liners. Then you brought up Nichuskin.

Exactly. So Dmen drafted in the top 5 are higher risk and tend to pan out not as perfectly as everyone likes to think.
