That's if he wants to return. He's our 7th forward. He probably wouldn't be on another team. He may want a team where he plays a bigger role. And I should hope he played better than Simmonds, he's 2 years older. I'm not saying he's bad, I'm saying this summer he's a very valuable trade piece.

I'm just saying, don't ignore the possibility that skips town next offseason if we keep him next season. I feel like if there was an extension being worked out, we would've heard grumblings about it already, like we have with Giroux's. As Bill said, Matt Read is essentially just a very good role player. He's a guy that alot of teams could use, but one that is expendable to our lineup.

Nah he hits free agency in 2 years, and would be more than willing to sign with us at zero asset cost, I imagine. He would be a good replacement for Hartnell on the top line once hartsy starts to decline
