If it happens I'd much rather it be in our division. Really love it if the Flyers signed him. It's fun watching them implode. |

I really don't see us getting anything other than a goalie. We will sign Hammer and Bailey. I am guessing Hammer gets his long term deal for around 3.5 ish.. and Bailey gets a short term "prove it" contract again. Then they will try to sign Clutterbuck who is also an RFA.. and your Forwards are done.
Defense Snow feels that Donovan, DeHaan and a few others deserve a shot to make the team. Unless a top pairing guy falls into our lap (cap casualty.. not going to happen). We are not pulling trigger....
The only sign I am waiting on ... and hopeful for is a goalie. Again we will probabbly get a Back up for a 2 mill 2 years like Nabby, TT, etc.... but if that doesn't work I would not be surprised to see us take Hedberg off Jersey's hands and roll with Poulin and Hedberg..
I listed forwards yesterday... here is what I think Defense looks like next year.
Hammer/A mack
Vis/ Strait
Donovan/Hickey
Carkner
long shots : DeHaan, Reinhardt, etc. - niteislander
Unless you're signing a goalie for $8M a year, you're still likely to be $5+M short of the floor. More likely: Bailey about 2.5, Hamonic 3, Clutterbuck 2.5, the rest 2 total, if they sign, which Ullstrom, for one, won't. In the end, you're likely looking at 4, and then you have to figure that at least one guy they acquire will be a trade, which may leave them even. I'm also probably inflating the salaries a bit. I can't see us only adding one player, and still making the floor. |

Clarkson wants 7 years at 6 million per. I originally said 6 years. This is even more funny. |

High energy but I think he's something like 3'6"? Love the picture of him next to Chara . All players on waivers these days know they have nothing to worry about. Their saviour is just a phone call away. |

With these prices it will be another washout in FA for the Isles. To be fair, I would not pay these prices either. |

Neither would I. Can't blame Snow but there is a time when he will have to meet the market. Clarkson is worth ABSOLUTE TOPS 4 million IMO and I mean absolute tops. 7 years is a joke, these players are crazy and the teams are even crazier for signing them. He'll be a Leaf which I think is awesome. |

Nothing changed with all these lockouts . You are right, Isles will have to meet the market. I just have nightmares about more guys like Rolston. |

Trent Hunter is a free agent. Pandolfo is as well. Who knows maybe Jeff Tambellini is in our future. So many top guys Garth can lick his lips and pick. |

No problem meeting the market if the man is exactly what you need. Otherwise, I WOULD just as soon pay a Rolston for 1 year to make the floor. The real issue there is that he doesn't have to play. That said, I can see a couple this year who would help, so they'd best not be shy. |

Rolston is not Clarkson. Rolston was bought in solely to reach the floor. |

He is more of a Grabner type player. I mean it could open it up to trade Grabner in a package. I mean I don't want to but it is an option |

No he's not. He plays a game with an edge and had 30 points one season I think. He's also three feet tall and didn't fit in on the third or fourth line for Buffalo hence why they waived him. Not at all like him nor would he be an even remotely realistic replacement for Grabner. Just because he's small and reasonably quick doesn't mean he is a similar player. |

he WANTS 7 years and $6M per. He's not getting anything close to that. He may get $5M per for 5 years. That's the absolute best I think he'll get. And the Isles won't be the ones giving it to him. |
