He has no choice. He must add at least $7M in salary, best case scenario for Wang's checkbook. Likely more like $9M. - dcb1
He'll sign Gerbe to a one million dollar contract with a bonus clause for 6 million if he scores over fifty goals. |

Eklund is as credible as what I just dropped in the toilet. Guy has no sources, just flat out lies and claims to have connections which don't exist.
That being said, i would love to have Miller |

I believe getting Miller would be a punch in the face to RDP but who cares about him. Vanek would look awesome here but I am sure they would want the sun and stars for both of them. I don't know this could be the WTF moment we have been waiting for years |

Bullpoop rumor. Tampa has bishop and lindback. If it were true that they wanted miller, then why did they trade for bishop and sign him at the deadline? Doesn't make sense. But 99.9% of eklund's "rumors" don't make sense. |

True but thinking more on the Isles side. I would have to think that Garth at least is exploring every option |

Strange how most players that had good/great careers in Buffalo all fall off in production when they leave/left. Drury, Briere, Boyes....Vanek could be another.
Miller in net doesnt worry me the same tho buffalo fans complained about him an awful lot for his personality issues, public remarks, etc- and at times goaltending.
Miller& nabby would be a pretty solid goal tandem. We have the space to sign both. Rather see that than overpayment on forwards. |

According to Cap geek the ISlanders need to spend $12.5 million to reach the cap floor...this is with DiPietro's buyout... |

I can't wait for the days when the isles and us fans aren't talking about ways to reach the floor. It's so pathetic. They made the playoffs and have a great core. I'm not saying hit the ceiling but spend some money already. Enough is enough. |

I agree...won't happen with Wang as the owner...I think they pick up 3 players (G, F and vet dman) within two weeks... |

We'll have no problem reaching that even without any ufa attention. Speaking of which, it appears the Isles were never even a consideration for Briere, Lecavalier and perhaps Horton. Not a good sign that our perception has changed around the league. It makes me think that we may see very little action next week unless we score a trade.

Figure Hamonic gets $2.5-3 million per, bailey gets around $1.5-2 million per, and clutterbuck gets $1.5-2 million as well then team just has to spend about $5 million which can be done if they acquire someone like halak and re-sign poulin. Plus add a solid UFA for good measure. It's not a gigantic task if snow does act like a gm. |

Snow is shaking in his boots as we speak. He knows he has to spend money but I don't think he knows how. |

stupid question but is Poulin a free agent? We could trade for Ryan Miller or HIller and give our youngsters a chance to play. I would love to get clarkson as well but at 4.5 i accept that |

It's one thing for us not wanting certain players out there because they're too old, make too much or just don't fit in with what we are trying to build. It's quite another if these guys are picking a team like the flyers who are in a bit of disarray over us. I mean, are we or are we not now viewed as a team on the rise in this league? Maybe it's just that the older players will always see the Isles in one light: a losing franchise. |
