Those teams need small, old/poopty, overpaid forwards? - hscesq
They do when it helps out the Habs.
You see the Habs may realize that these players are old and poopty but it's really unlikely than any other GM would be aware of this.

Agree. I think he'll end up a pretty good player to be honest. Only way this makes sense is if he forced a deal. It seems like he was avoiding having anything to do with this organization at all costs. Makes you wonder if they ever even talked to this kid before drafting him. Would rather have seen a second round pick come back though. Seems like the intent was to improve the Bulldogs more than anything. - DoubleDown
Woah...capitalized sentences. Marriage agrees with you.

So you're the Dallas GM right now, you're just (frank)ing itching to ice Cody Eakin as your #2 Center?
Gionta might be a tough sell but I can't imagine Desharnais is impossible to move. |

Gionta is UFA next year, Habs are not contender next season, he is not a problem long term. |

Do you live in sherbrooke in your parents basement? Are you fat? Do you watch 123895783589 hockey games per year? Do you know every prospect from peewee level to the AHL around the world? Do you over value EVERY French Canadian player?
if the answer is yes, your are the one he is talking about |

sometimes it comes down to need. a team like Montreal? their need is size up front because they have too many small players playing scoring roles. but teams like St. Louis and San Jose, very big teams who ran into scoring trouble in the playoffs, might look at a guy like Gionta (not DD) who has a proven playoff track record, one year left on his deal, and think it's worth a shot.
not saying this would happen, just illustrating the thought process. that's why i think a guy like Briere would be a great fit for some of those big Western teams who had trouble scoring in the playoffs. |

First bump in the corner with Crosby and they'll be accusing the other team of keeping a menace in the league. |
