Agreed Double D. I lived downtown Toronto for years and saw hockey players walking around just about every other day. I think the most attention I ever saw one get was someone saying "great game". I don't ever remember seeing any of them being asked for an autograph.

Gerbe is useless. wouldn't worry about him signing here. Briere on the other hand... dunno. Ek called the Lecavalier signing. i'm starting to worry that he's bang on about Briere. then what? Gionta is untradeable with that bicep injury. Gallagher... are we really going to move him to make room for Briere? and would anyone even take DD? i don't see any way we don't go into the season with 4 of the smallest forwards in the league playing huge roles.

Someone needs to tell Bergevin that yes, hiring local talent is great, but in Brière's case, seriously, we're fine if he doesn't get him. In fact, it would be awesome if he didn't.
