saying Briere is from Montreal is like saying someone from Pittsburgh is from Philadelphia. - DoubleDown
So why did you boo him for the past 5 years every time he was on the ice in Montreal? |

Christian MF Thomas, doesn't sound the same. Sounds like a guy that gives bj's for 5 bucks.
Also, Japan Airlines FTW - QuebecPride

Eller produced at the same pace as Desharnais with absolutely no powerplay time.
Kid improved every year.
He'll be a fine 2nd line center. - Scabeh
yeah i see him as a 20-goal, 55-point 2-way centre in the coming years. maybe even more assists if he starts to pick up some PP time. i think that's good enough for second line duties, provided you're getting adequate production from the line above. |

funny how none of the above answers actually answered the question... what is the reason Danny got booed for 5 years in Montreal? |

For the same reason you'll boo Giroux when he signs for Pittsburgh at the end of his contract. |

If he did sign with Pitt, that would be completely different than Briere never even wearing a Montreal jersey and getting booed because he didn't sign with you guys. |

They don't boo him in Montreal, they boo him in the bell centre. They ask him for autograph in Montreal at the grocery store. |

I'm okay with the signing if it is a one year deal. You think he doesn't push for 2-3 years? - Biggus Richardus
I heard him on Sportsnet radio this morning...he said he wants 2 years, but would consider 1 or 3 if the situation was right. Nothing longer than 3 yrs though. |

I wanted Brière back then, when I saw the term and money he signed for, I was glad to see him choose Philadelphia.
For the rest, I can't really speak for all Habs fans. I guess some people felt he never wanted to come here and that his agent just used the Habs to milk more money out of the Flyers. |

Yea, I mean.. I can't really remember ever seeing a fan base boo a player for 6 years straight because he didn't sign with them. |

He leveraged Gainey's offer to get that deal. Every top UFA does that though. The only reason he gets booed is because he's French. |

Vinny signed that contract in Philly because he figured it was the easiest way to win a Cup in LA. |
