Yea, I mean.. I can't really remember ever seeing a fan base boo a player for 6 years straight because he didn't sign with them. - Flyers2821
when you face that player in the playoffs two times over the course of that contract and he contributes heavily to his team beating yours? yeah, that adds fuel to the fire. not to mention his little fist pumps like he's still playing Midget hockey in Gatineau. |

I am sure a large majority of the people in this blog have booed Danny at a game in Montreal... - Flyers2821
QP is not a large majority. |

Vinny signed that contract in Philly because he figured it was the easiest way to win a Cup in LA. - 3M
The only cup he'll win in Philly, is the one in his jockstrap. |

But had he just been traded to the Flyers and never hit FA... he would not get booed in Monreal. Am I wrong there? |

id say it's likely. it won't be unanimous like it's been for a guy like Chara or Komisarek. but there will be a heavy chorus of boos. |

(frank) I hate that poop.
If he signs in Montreal, Therrien better beat that out of him like he did the triple-low-five with Subban. |

And these booes are all simply because Montreal feels entitled to get certain players? No other city in any sport is that way with players. I'm just trying to understand the dynamic of it, that's all. |

But cities get snubbed by big free agents on an annual basis. Look at all the teams which got hung out to dry by Parise and Suter last year... no cities boo them all year long. What makes Montreal different that they react that way? |

I think you are victim of Canadiens 'cause they booed Briere for 5 years and you gonna be a victim again 'cause they will boo Lecavalier for 4 years. |

Eller produced at the same pace as Desharnais with absolutely no powerplay time.
Kid improved every year.
He'll be a fine 2nd line center. - Scabeh
He produced cause he was at the right place. When Bolland was asked if he thought he was a second line center, he responded that he could play it but was a bit of a stretch. He was more comfortable on the third. That is a person who knows his role. Bolland is better than Eller. |

As someone else pointed out, it's mostly because players from our province will say stuff like "I would like nothing more than to play with the Habs" or "Of course i'd be very interested if Habs would call me" and then sign with someone else.
Even Vinny saying: "Wow I was very impressed by the Habs!" but signs with the Flyers.
Just shut the (frank) up and don't make it sound like it would have been special for you to play here, if it was, you wouldn't have signed elsewhere. |

This is where we disagree. Completely.
Edit: You are comparing a young center who's progressing every year and clearly deserves a shot at more ice time to a veteran 3rd line center that, if anything, will never be as useful as he was on a very good Chicago team.

Are you seriously not getting this?
If Minnesota's fans fan felt that Parise leveraged a home-town offer from the Wild to sign in Chicago, they'd lose their poop. |

Problem is champ, Bolland isn't available and Eller, well, he's on the team. Eller is only 24 years old and moving forward. |

it has nothing to do with entitlement. it has to do with the fact that we want a homegrown player to choose to play in Montreal during his prime. it never happens. they only want to come here at the end of their careers, if at all. and Vinnie is different. Vinnie is from Montreal, not Gatineau or Quebec City. |

Vinny signing anywhere else while blowing smoke out his ass about how special it would be in Montreal just shows that he's utterly full of poop. |
