8yrs, 32M with the Leafs, will be announced later on today - Symba007
That honestly would not be bad for the 5-6 years in the middle of the contract. This year won't be great because the cap went down, but I expect the cap to continually rise... & I think thats what most other GMs expect which is why they hand out these deals in the first place.
The end of that contract will bring us to the end of Bozak's prime, when we might be disappointed again.
4M is just too much for a 3rd line C these days.
We really need to just let him walk so Kadri and Grabovski can roll with 1C and 2C.

That is why I like Bergevin, he is doing a smart job.
He put himself in a position where he has nearly 11M$ to play with this summer - The_Price_is_right

aw... give him a break...
the Habs couldn't part with Halak, Ryder and 2nd when they had the chance to get Vinny...
now the heartbreak in Montreal must be enormous...
but it is a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy....
1) develop young french canadian star... who leaves the province when drafted
2) watch same star develop far from home
3) be part of distinct society in Quebec... or at least not opposed to it and directly lead to higher taxation in the country so that those transfer payments remain to keep all those necessary services functioning
4) watch treasures such as Vinny not want to come home because of higher taxation and less net income...
the circle is perfect. - AdamFrench

You forgot one thing, building a hockey arena in the middle of the desert and having 4 out of 7 idiots approve.
Now it's perfect... |

If this is Ballsack in his prime, he can enjoy his money in the NLA over in Switzerland. |

He's 27 - an 8 year will bring us to 35. Prime ends around 33... I'm just sayin 4 M could be good for the years starting when he's 29-33. Next year would be good too except that the cap shrinks.
He could be a 2C IMO and $4M aint too bad.
But I wouldnt do it. I'm just saying it wouldn't be the end of the world.. |

He's putting up barely second line points on a line with a top-10 scorer and a PPG guy, imagine what he would do if he wasn't gifted 4 minutes of PP time a night and playing on the actual second line away from his butt boy the Thrill? |

Maybe there is more money on the table than you know?
I've seen tax dollars wasted in way more different ways than this. |
