I said rarely. If I were grading out Homer's GM skills, I would give him very high marks for trades. - PhillySportsGuy
You'd be correct -- you can't win every trade, and people who mock the Steve Eminger trade are correct: That one didn't go well, at all. But Paul Holmgren's body of work is far, far better than critics will ever acknowledge, because for some reason, they think some people are so stupid as to not realize that two conference finals, a Stanley Cup final, and four seasons of 95-plus points during his seven years on the job means that he isn't the Village Idiot.
There are far, far worse GMs in the NHL. Far, far worse. There are people who call themselves fans who have no idea how good they have it. |

I thought they needed centers? That seems contradictory to me. |

I'm worried about emery's health holding out. I'd be all in for Thomas but being out for a whole year worries me. Either one will do at this point. Don't want Nabokov cause it seems like he really is a guy who disappears in big games, backstrom if he 's available is an injury case, put him on the flyers and forget it. |

Emery is going to resign in Chi town. I'd really like Thomas for $3, which apparently what he's asking for. |

Probably clearing cap space to re-sign Bozak and go after Clarkson. |

I hope they get Clarkson he's going to be the most overpaid guy in the league.
Don't get me wrong he's a good players, but he wants $6mil per year for 7 years. Like ya right |

I mentioned that earlier he is another who likes to speculate about the Flyers...Hopefully he gets more right then EK does - nonpoint22
haha seriously. Until I see him get a bunch of things right, I'll believe he just posts a lot of random BS that anyone of us can speculate about. Or he just basically re-posts things that others have already said on Twitter. |

Tyler Bozak actually asked for EIGHT YEARS.
I don't even know what to say to that. I got nothing against Tyler Bozak, but...wow. Eight years?
WOW.
I've said it before, but players and agents absolutely demand more from big-market teams than small-market teams, and while teams can walk away from a negotiation, it's not always that simple, because you still have to try to ice a competitive team, and you can't just always let assets leave for nothing. |

Dreger told TSN Radio 1050 that the Toronto Maple Leafs are very keen on free agent winger David Clarkson and have also expressed interest in defenceman Rob Scuderi. Dreger says Clarkson is going to get a handsome contract perhaps somewhere north of $6 million per year, but Toronto will only sign Clarkson "if the fit is right financially."

None that I've heard, but I would assume if he wants to make an NHL comeback that he's at least going to be working out this summer. |

They sign Elias until he's 40, but we're still crazy for signing Lecavalier until he's 38 |
