Don't feed the troll -- he's convinced himself that the Flyers having one player making over $5.25 million next year is the same as the Penguins having three guys making more than $7.25 million.
It's the only way those fans can delude themselves into not crying themselves to sleep at night. - AllInForFlyers
Yeah.. I have a few Penguin / Leaf fan friends ( yep sadly i do ) that have been asking me how it feels to overpay Giroux. Pshhhh |

Yep me to. 2 yrs is enough for us to see if Mason is the real deal, if not gives us some time to find someone. |

5.5 cap hit but the last two years are for 4m and 3m or something like that, so for a team that needs to get to the cap floor it makes sense
plus EDM might be eating some of his salary, or something else nice going back to Dallas |

If the alternative is letting him go then so be it.
Toronto doesn;t have a player close to him and the Pens are one concussion away from having to eat a lot of money. Crosby's contract could not be insured. |

I think they were just looking for a veteran. They have two pretty good young centers in Seguin and Benn now. Maybe Horcoff will just be a mentor for them. |

You do realize there are reported forecasts the cap could go up as much as $6 million after next season. Hence, the reason your team has a comfort level having 3 players signed over $7 million. - ravishingone
I came here in good sports to say Giroux was almost signing and somehow some people hurt their feelings. Never said anything bad about the signing just asked what were the plans for your RFAs |

Yep but well have to re sign mason. He only has 1 year left. |

Of the options out there I would lean towards Emery. Played very well last year. .922 save %. Granted he was playing behind the best team in the NHL.
I'm somewhat concerned that Mason reverts back to Columbus form, and Emery will be unable to start 50+ games. His hip is a question mark.
Flyers have improved in one very underrated aspect, signing Lecavalier, and Hall, coupled with Giroux, those 3 players will take the majority of faceoffs. Flyers should be much improved in that aspect of the game. Also signing Hall gives Laughton another year to develop which is also a good thing. |

Thats a good thing though, i guess. If we sign Emery for 2 yrs and Mason poops the bed this season, we will still have Emery for one more year and Mason can walk, if he does good i'm sure he'll be rewarded with an extension. |

You're very condescending. Your remark was meant like 'what are your plans for your rfas' because you won't be able to sign them. |

Meltz reported that B Schenn's salary will go up but his cap hit down, as his entry level deal had a huge bonus tied into it
Couts likely to get a small raise, if they do a bridge contract
a few big contracts come off next season too |

I would like to see Laughton at least split the draws with Hall. Just use Hall on defensive zone and some offensive zone. I'm assuming they play on the same line. |
