If they get Clarkson and they just drafted Nurse too he likes to fight. - VANTEL
A) everyone and their ugly mother knows Clarkson will sign in Toronto....
B) If we see Nurse in the NHL before 2015, I'll wax your mothers vage for her....
and a lot can change by then...... |

Ballard to the Wild - VANTEL
Speculating or done? That would save the Aquilini's a few bucks. |

My mother ususally gets her wrinkled vage now done by Cloudio and Simone. I will keep that in mind but suggest you stock up on turtle wax and maybe even a floor sander.
Yes uncharachteristic of the OIl to play a draft pick first year

Take this to bank: Keith Ballard signs in his home state of Minnesota, with the Wild. They need third pairing D-man

Also, they could trade him if they wanted. Would just have to wait till later in the summer when he's recovered. - KB3Point0
I suspect an injury prone winger who scored 1 goal and only played 12 games last year on a contract with a 4mil+ cap hit isn't going anywhere in trade. |

Do we think Booth would have gotten bought out if he still wasn't injured? - thundachunk
Not sure.
I think they'd like to hold on to one of the compliance buyouts for next year in case the Lou situation gets worse.
Aquilinis may not have been willing to buy out Lou this season, but they might change their tune if this season is a disaster. |

Last year was a complete write off for Booth. If the Canucks wanted to trade him they could. They just wouldn't get anything back for him. |

How soon do you think Nurse will make an impact on the Oilers roster, realistically?
The Canucks have several prospects who are willing to fight in the system; Arch, Mallet, Polasek, Cassels...
And who really cares about fighters anyway.
One player like Nurse doesn't make the Oilers "tougher" than the Canucks. |

I'd like to see Mallet get a shot on the 4th line next season. |

Probably a last resort. But they'd be smart to hold on to that last buyout.
Use it on whoever the best candidate is next offseason. |

Unlike previous seasons there will be a few spaces available in the lineup for kids to grab at camp this year. |

I think if Luo comes back the Canucks will likely make the playoffs, I doubt it'll be a really bad year. I do suspect based on how it looks at the moment that they'll be a bit worse than last year however a trade or a couple good depth signings could change that. Plenty of time over the summer to make any additions or changes. |

They could buy out Booth on regular buyout. Save 2.8 in cap space this year and next . A 4 year hit of 1.4 against the cap |

He's a long shot.
I personally think he needs at least one full year in the AHL playing top9 minutes.
But if he wins the spot out of camp, I certainly won't complain.
I think Archibald or Blomstrand have the upper hand on him at this point, but Mallet does have an advantage in that he can play both C and W. |
