Yikes. Sure hope not - Just5
3.3 cap hit? I think he's worth it. Maybe 9 mil? He's gonna get 3 mil per. |

My guess is three years / 10 mil. - TonyBazz
If they didn't sign Thomas to alleged 1 year $3M then I don't see them doing something like this. But who knows? |

Then again Clarkson and Weiss are worth $6M a year... and Dallas seems to think Shawn Horcoff is worth $5.5. Poor Vinny Lecav got stiffed. |

Maybe now the Flyers can give Edmonton Coburn for something... Anything at this point. Package Coburn with Couturier maybe? |

He moved back to St. Louis.

his response was a joke. the guy that posted the roster left pronger on the roster because a team can NOT use LTIR until the season begins... thus pronger's cap DOES impact the available offseason cap space |

I was about to follow my post up with....you don't move to St. Louis expecting to play competitive hockey again....but my fun was ruined.
Thanks for the explanation on how long term injured reserved works though. I actually didn't know that. |

If the kid from Finland is the backup then that is $300,000 more than Emery made last year backing up Crawford. Any little dollar helps when the cap is going down. Unless the Hawks can find a backup for cheaper. |

Nah you won't see Coburn in anything unless they are upgrading. I have a reliable source that's hinting towards Yandle. Coburn would be one of the pieces going back to Phoenix.
I'm no Eklund, but think of me if/when this goes down. |

I would like the Hawks to add some depth to the 3rd or 4th line tomorrow. I don't like the fact that Bollig, Carcillo, Smith, Morin, Pirri, and Hayes are this team's answers for how they are going to fill the bottom half of their roster. Too many young guys that have yet to play full seasons kind of scares me. I know they have to try to make it sometime, but all at once is not a good thing regardless of how great the Hawks think their depth is as an organization. |

I hope they stay away from him then, but someone in the last thread said the Hawks offered Toronto a first round pick a year ago for him. Likely will have interest if that's true. - Hemingways
Will now play with an extra chip on his shoulder next year, too, for whoever he signs with. |

SB will get 1or 2 depth vets but what scares me ....... Here comes D P" right down the chute for a 550K 2 way contract to see if he has enough to back up CC! |

Why did Waite leave?
Was he unhappy?
Closer to home?
More money?
Other?
Surprised if it was option 3, especially with the success he's had. |

Perhaps the KHL. He would fit well in Washington. He's probably a safer bet than Ribiero. |

All good. I don't pretend to be an expert on Pittsburgh's cap situation for next season, so how do you think they fit under? - Rocktane
They have 4 mil to spend on probably 2 players they should be fine. Also trading niskanen is always an option. |

rumor has it Mr. Cub is going back to clark & addison for the next goalie coach: gonna be Randy Hundley, he figures Goalie /Catcher, same concept! |

You know who the real winner is in the Stars/Bruins trade? Loui Eriksson...because he doesn't have to wear those heinous Stars sweaters. Lucky bastard
Hope everyone has a good 4th. Im getting b*tched at to get off HBuzz and go outside to get a good view of fireworks. |

What about Henrik Karlsson? Was he that terrible in Rockford? He seems like he could be a pretty solid number two, and we have him signed until next 14-15. I know he wasn't going to get a very good chance to start playing second fiddle to kipper in Calgary (which are the only instances i've seen him). |

makes sense. if nothing else works, why not use sarcasm to stop goals! |
