And then talks about the full NMC and compares it with Carter. Well, the full NMC doesn't kick in until next July 1. So there are no more guarantees than Carter had. (Not that I expect him to be traded, but it is perfectly possible.)

Ottawa did the right thing by trading for Ryan after Alfie left today. They need to make a splash. Ottawa still should be a very good team next year.

He's had success on other lines, too. I think they'd like more of a shooter on Giroux's line.

Most definitely. You can fill a void or two through free agency but you build a team through drafts and development.

You think the Flyers move Coburn? I still think that will be a mistake. Top 4 dman don't just grow on trees. A lot of players had a down year in this lockout shorten year. I know this first hand just looking at Brad Richards.

I think they trade Mez to free up cap space. Coburn wont be traded unless they get back a decent return. Would have to have a defenseman who can play but at a cheaper price.

Yea that is probably the smartest move. Although isn't his cap hit about 4 mil? Might be tough since he is coming off of injuries

I also don't know about that Vinny L contract. 5 years is pretty long for a player who seems to be declining a bit. I guess though compared to a lot of the deals handed out today, it could have been much worse.

I always expected it to be around 8M. I said that as far back as last Summer.

It is crazy, never thought I would see Vinny on a different team. Gonna look weird seeing him in orange and black

For those who don't know this, let me throw out there that I'm black. I just wanted to say that this offseason has been super exciting but today has been incredible for me in the sense that I can now say that the Flyers have had two black hockey players on this team at one time. This to me is bigger then having a black president!!
