All St Louis fans want Giroux and say if Homer offer-sheets Pietrangelo, they will offer-sheet all are RFA - Winning
I doubt we have an rfa's by next year (maybe mason). Schenn and Coots will be locked up during the season. Homer is not that stupid. |

Overall, after thinking about it and seeing the massacre of bad deals handed out yesterday, I think the Flyers have done a really good job so far; as far as next season's lineup is concerned.
Lecavalier will be good for them next year and so will Streit. Emery, on a one year deal, is a very good signing.
No BS, I think the Flyers are doing a decent job, heading into next season. I know they aren't done and likely have to make a trade but so far Holmgren has been smart while being proactive. - MidnightMarauder

Yea I think that is pretty close to it, not sure how they would feel taking on all that salary tho. - Just5
That's why this is so interesting. To me, I've got no problem trading Couts or Schenn. I've got issues moving Jake and Simmonds. Now if we move Couts, Coburn, and Read, the deal with Mezzy can't be far behind. If we move Simmer, Coburn, and Schenn we won't have to free up space and could theoretically keep Mez and add Gags. The better package in my opinion is the Simmonds trade, but if they can't add 7++ million for their best player, why would they take 10 million from another team. I'm not quite sure I see a match between these teams. |

On the free agent front, I think it is great, especially this year's batch of garbage. But the Rangers have a lot of key RFAs to lock up and Lundqvist's renegotiations are something hanging out there too.

Then sign your RFAs during the season, dumbasses.
I cant see spite offersheets happening. You have to have the assets, the cap room and have to accept the possible reality that you end up getting stuck with the player you're driving up the price for. |

Ya, they don't understand Petrangelo wants a huge deal, and wants an offersheet |

I have a hard time seeing B Schenn signing an offersheet. No one else can offer him the opportunity to play with his brother. |

Too bad their fans don't make any of those decisions. Our players tend to be locked up or traded long before they can be offer sheeted. This line of thinking is not intimidating, especially coming from the team that is willing to dangle AP. |

also no one is going to give these guys an offer sheet that philly won't match and if they did give a crazy OS (of the weber, AP calibur) I'd gladly take 4 1st round picks for either coots or Schenn. |

Agreed.
How STL or NSH or whoever lets their top players hit RFA status absolutely baffles me. |

Yep. Holmgren locked G up a year before he had to. AP is just as big a piece for STL. If you play with fire, don't complain about getting burnt. |

When it comes to contract negotiations, it is a business. Pietrangelo needs to learn that sooner or later. His time will come. He's 23 coming off his EL deal. And if his feelings are hurt from it, then he needs to grow up. If the rumors are true, that he's asking for 7M, then yes, the Blues don't want to spend that much. But they don't want to trade him either in my opinion. - MJL
I don't agree that it's about growing up. It's about what been going on here for the past two days - letting the market judge what you are worth regardless of your age.
It's not too far fetched that if AP is shopped, he will garner a king's ransom in return and will be paid close to, if not, 7 mil per by somebody. He's a franchise defenseman and only 23 years old and there aren't many of those around. If this is a ploy to get him to reduce his demands, StL fans may end up being very disappointed.

Exactly, with the deals that are being handed out to mediocre players, the Rangers are best served sitting back and watching while looking towards taking care of their own. If Mike Smith can get 5.67 per year and Bob can get 6 per year after 1 good strike-shortened season, I can only imagine what Lundqvist is looking for with his track record. |

Price for AP would be too high. I could see them asking for B. Schenn, Voracek, Morin and Cousins. Maybe even more. |

I'm sure they will be a bit more realistic if we O.S. him to a 7 yr $56M deal. |

I'm still curious what the asking price for Bogo is.
Cant believe the Jets continue to do next to nothing to add to their team. Its like theyre trying to outdo Feaster. |
